AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE OPERATION OF AMBULANCES ON THE
STREETS OF LITTLE ROCK; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. From and after the passage of this Ordinance
it shall be a misdemeanor for any .person, fitam or corporation,
operating ambulance service for hire, to send or dispatch any

ambulance or other type of emrrgency vehicle to an acoident
on the public streets until, and unless the Little Rock Police
Department has given authority for such trip.
SECTION 29 The Police Department shall give authority
for emregency ambulance trips mentioned in Section b of this
Ordinance to those persons, firms, or corporations first
announcing the intention to make the emergency trip.
SECTION 3. It shall be a misdemeanor for any person,
firm, or corporation to operate an ambulance on the streets
of the City of Little Rook, Arkansas, at a speed in excess of
thirty -five miles per hour.
SECTION 4. Any person, firm,. or corporation violating
Section 1 or Section 3 of this Ordinance shall be fined in
any sum not less than $10.00 of not more than $100.00.
SECTION 5. Because at "present unregulated operation of
ambulance service on the streets of Little Rock, Arkansas,
constitutes a hazard and a menace to the-life and safety of
citizens and an impairment of traffic control, and because
this situation is hostile to the best interests of the community,
an - emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance is
found to be necessary for the preservation of the public peace,
health, and safety and shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage.
