136281 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 04►/ 28 29 30 31 32 33 RESOLUTION NO. 13,628 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR A GRANT AND TO EXECUTE AGREEMENTS WITH METROPLAN AND THE ARKANSAS HIGHWAY AND TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT FOR FUNDING A PORTION OF RIVER TRAIL IMPROVEMENTS NEAR CANTRELL ROAD; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock understands Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Grants Funds are available through Metroplan and the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department for certain City projects; and, WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock has determined that it is desirable to apply for TAP Grant funding to make improvements to the River Bluffs segment of the Arkansas River Trail. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: Section 1. The City pledges its full support and hereby authorizes the City Manager to make a full application for grant funding for the project designated as the western termini of the River Bluffs segment of the trail consisting of a trail connection from North Cantrell Road at Gill Street eastward. Section 2. Should a grant be subsequently awarded, the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute all appropriate agreements and contracts necessary to expedite the construction of this project. Section 3. Funding for this project is to be from the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) and City Match Funds from an undesignated grant match account. If a grant is subsequently received, the total estimated project cost is Five Hundred Ninety-Five Thousand Dollars ($595,000). The estimated maximum Federal grant share 80% is Four Hundred Seventy-Six Thousand Dollars ($476,000) and the estimated City share 20% is One Hundred Nineteen Thousand Dollars ($119,000). Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the resolution. Section 5. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
