AN ORDINANCE FIRING THE SALARY OF THE CHIEF OF THE FIRE DEPART-
MENT; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The salary of the Chief of the Little Rook
Fire Department is

( #350.00) per month, to be paid at the'
time 'and in the manner
that other salaries in the Fire Department are paid.
SECTION 29 The salary fixed in Section 1 of this ordi-
nance shall be effective as of and after May 1, 19469
SECTION S. Because the present salary paid the Chief
of the Little Rook Fire Department is inadequate; and because
the presence of inadequate salaries.is detrimental to initia-
tive and the efficiency of the Fire Department and increases
the fire hazard to the citizens of Little Rook and their
property; and because this ordinance will help to correct
this situation; an emergency is hereby declared to exist
and this ordinance is found to be necessary for the preserva-
tion of the public peace, health and safety, and the same
shall be in full force and effect from and after May 1, 1946.
