AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE BOARD
OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS TO ADVERTISE AND TAKE BIDS FOR
AND PURCHASE TRAFFIC SIGNALS FOR USE FROIV! MARKHAM
TO NINTH STREET, INCLUSIVE, ON BROADWAY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS,
SECTION 1. The Board of Public Affairs is
hereby authorized and directed to advertise, to take
bids for and p,?rchase suitable traffic signals for
installation on Broadway Street from 11arkham to Ninth,
inclusive.
SECTION 2. The cost of these traffic signals,
including installation, shall not exceed the sum of
Sixteen Thousand Five Hundred Dollars 016,500.00).
SECTION 3. Inasmuch as the traffic upon the
streets of the City of Little Rock has recently increased,
there is dire need for adequate controls to be placed
upon the traffic in the City of Little Rock; and if such
controls are not provided for immediately, the public
peace, health and safety will be adversely effected;
therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist,
and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.
