7139ORDINANCE NO. 7139
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A BOARD OF
CENSORS, ATYJENDING ORDINANCES NO. 4009,
4991 AND 6042 DECLARING AN E ERGENCY
AND FOR OTEER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY ThE CITY COUNCIL OF ThE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Board of Censors Created. In
order to protect the norals, sense of decency, peace
and safety of the residents of the city, especially
those under legal age, a Board of Censors is hereby
created, consisting of twenty -three (23) members.
One r-ember shall be chosen at the annual election
of the Little Rock Parent - Teachers Association, and
such elected rember shall be reported to the City
Council immediately following such election. Two members
shall be chosen b�. the Mayor from citizens of the city
at large. Each alderman shall appoint two members,
and such appointments as are made by the alderman
shall be from the residents of the ward represented
by the alderman making the appointments. Such nember
shall serve at the will and pleasure of the person
or croup making the appointment or their successor,
and when a vacancy occurs upon said board it shall
be filled by the p-.rson or group making the appcint-
r:ent or their successor.
SECTION 2. Section one (1) of Ordinances
No. 4009, 4991 and 6042 are hereby amended to conform
to the prcvisions of this ordinance.
SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of
ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed,
and unless the provisions of this ordinance are put
into effect immediately the public peace, health
and safety of the citizens of Little Rock will be

adversely affected, therefore, an emergency is
hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from and _after its
passage and approval.
