AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 5106 OF
THE ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS, PERMITTING THE USE OF SHORT WAVE
TRANSMISSION SETS WHICH HAVE BEEN LICENSED
BY THE FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION IN
VEHICLES IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARK:
SECTION 1. Sections 1 and 2 of Ordinance No. 5106
are hereby repealed, and the following shall be substituted there-
for:
"It shall be unlawful to equip any automobile
operated over or upon the streets of the City of
Little Rock with a short wave length radio receiving
set or to operate any automobile so equipped over
said streets, unless such automobile be in the service
of the City, County, State or Federal Government,
provided, however, that this ordinance does not apply
to receiving equipment being used in vehicles licensed
by the Federal Communications Commission for established
communications services and used in conjunction with
transmitting equipment installed in such vehicles."
SECTION 2. "Short Wave Length as used herein shall
include any frequency higher than sixteen hundred
(1600) kilocycles."
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage
and approval.
