AN ORDINANCE CREATING VARIOUS POSITIONS IN
THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT OF ''HE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, FIXING THE SALARIES THEREFOR,,
AND FOR OTHER FURPOSES.
WHEREAS, There has been a tremendous volume of post -war
construction within the City of Little Rock and the
engineering department is enable to adequately per-
form its functions with the present personnel, and
WHEREAS, The City of Little Rock is loosing several thousand
dollars monthly because the engineering department
has insufficient personnel to make building inspect-
ions,
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAIi`LED 9. THE CITY COUNCIL OF ME, CITY OF LIT'T'LE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The following; positions are hereby created
in the Engineering; Department of the City of Little Rock:
One (1) Engineering Aid
One (1) Senior Clerk
One (1) Plumbing; Inspector
SECTION 2. Persons to fill the positions hereby
created in Section 1 of this Ordinance shall be chosen bar the
Civil Service Coi.Tiission of the City of Little Rock in the manner
provided b;N- law; and shall possess such qualifications as are
set forth for the respective positions by the Civil Service
Commission.
SECTION 3. Persons occupying: such positions shall
be under the direction and control of the City Engineer and shall
perform such duties as prescribed by law and regulations for such
employees.
SECTION? 4. The persons occupying the above positions
shall be paid the following salaries:

Engineering Aid...Salary range X225.00 to ��275.00 per month.
Senior.Clerk ...... Salary range �>125.00 to 0150.00 per month.
Plumbing, Inspector..Salary range up to X200.00 per month.
SECTIOT,T 5. All ordinances and parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Unless the provis-
ions of this ordinance are put into effect immediately the public
peace, health and safety will be adversely affected; therefore,
an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance
shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval.
