AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 4866 KNUMT AS THE
BUILDING CODE; PRESCRIBING THE RULES, REGULATIONS, AND
RESTRICTIONS FOR THE ERECTIO?" OF BUILDINGS IN THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. Article 4, Section 34, Paragraph 8, AREA
MODIFICATION, of Ordinance No. 4866 known as the Building Code;
prescribing the rules, regulations, and restrictions for the
erection of buildings in the City of Little Rock is hereby
amended by adding sub - paragraph (d) as follows:
Outside the fire limits, business buildings" and storage
buildings-, of firesafe%, construction may be unlimited in
area except when such buildings or parts thereof are used
for the manufacture, sale, or storage of combustible goods,
in which case this modification shall not apply unless these
buildings or parts thereof are equipped with approved auto-
matic sprinkler equipments.
SECTION 2. In order to revise the Building Code of the
City of Little Rock to conform to present day materials and
types of construction, the amendment set out in Section 1
above is deemed necessary, and an emergency is hereby declar-
ed to exist; in order to protect the health, peace, and safety
of the citizens of Little Rock this ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its passage and approval.
