AN ORDINANCE TO RE -ENACT ORDINANCE NO. 7434 PASSED OCTOB-
ER 13,.19470 APPROPRIATING_ THE SUM OF SIRTY FIVE THOUSAND
SEVEN HUNDRED AND TWENTY SIX DOLLARS ($65,726.00) FROM THE
GENERAL FUND OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK FOR PAYMENT OF
BENEFITS DERIVED BY LANDS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK SITU-
ATED WITHIN THE LITTLE ROCK, PULASKI DRKIBJAGE DISTRICT NO.

WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Little Rock on
October 13, 1947 passed Ordinance 7434 appropriating the sum of
Sixty -Five Thousand Seven Hundred and Twenty -Six Dollars
($65,726.00) for the purpose of paying the benefits derived by
lands owned by the City of Little Rock within the Little Rock -
Pulaski Drainage District No. 2, and
WHEREAS, The said above amount was not expended during the
fiscal year of the Ordinance and it is necessary to re -enact said
ordinance,
NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARK:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated out of the General-
Funds of the City of Little Rock the sum of Sixty -Five Thousand
Seven Hundred Twenty -Six Dollars ($65,726.00) for the purpose of
paying the benefits derived by lands belonging to the City of
Little Rock, situated within Little Rock - Pulaski Drainage District
No. 20 growing out of the construction by said District of a levee
and interior drainage protecting said property from overflow.
SECTION 2. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
and directed to issue and deliver to the Little Rock - Pulaski Drain-
age District No. 2 the warrant of the City upon the date said Dis-
trict has sold all the bonds issued by said district for such im-
provements. Said warrant shall be drawn on the General Fund in
the said sum of Sixty -Five Thousand Seven Hundred Twenty -Six
Dollars, in full payment of all benefits to said city lands. In
the event, however, that such bonds of said district are not sold
or the levy project is abandoned in any manner such warrant shall
not be issued or delivered.
SECTION 3. It is-ascertained and declared by the City Coun-
oil of Little Rock that the City and the city property in said District

are in urgent and immediate need of the protection to life,
health, and property afforded by the levee and drainage works pro-

posed to be constructed by the United States Government in the
area described. It is therefore declared that an emergency exists;
that this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation
of the public peace, health and safety; and that t1-1s ordinance
shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and
approval.
