AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING SMOKING IN OR ON BED IN HOTELS
OR PUBLIC ROOMING HOUSES, AND PROHIBITING THE NEGLIGENT
BURNING OF BEDDING, FURNITURE, CURTAINS, DRAPERIES OR
HOUSEHOLD FURNISHINGS IN SUCH PLACES BY MEANS OF ANY
LIGHTED CIGARETTE OR MATCH OR LIGHTERS IN LIGHTING OR
ATTEMPTING TO LIGHT ANY CIGARETTE, CIGAR OR OTHER FORM
OF TOBACCO, AND FIXING THE PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION
OF SUCH Chi. DINANCE .
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
Section 1. It will be unlawful for any person while
in or on a bed in any hotel or public rooming homes in
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, to smoke a lighted
cigarette, cigar, pipe or other tobacco in any form.
Section 2. It shall be unlawful for any person
while in a hotel room or in-the room of a public rooming
house in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, carelessly
to set fire to, burn, or cause to be burned, any bedding,
furniture, curtains, draperies or household furnishings
by means of any lighted cigarettes, cigar, pipe or other
forms of burning tobacco, or by means of matches, lighters,
and the like, in lighting or attempting to light any
cigarette, cigar, pipe or other form of smoking tobacco.
Section 3. Any person violating any of the provisions
of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and
upon conviction shall be fined in any sum of not less than
Twenty -five ($25.00) Dollars nor more than Five Hundred
($500.00) Dollars.
