AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE SALARY OF THE CITY CLERK OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That from and after April 12, 1948 the
salary of the City Clerk of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas
shall be and is hereby fixed at Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00)
per year, payable as other salaries of the elected officials of
the City are paid.
SECTION 2. Because the salary now paid to the City
Clerk is inadequate and not commensurate with the duties and
responsibilities of said position; because it is unfair and
Inequitable to require the City Clerk to discharge the duties
of his office without paying an adequate salary therefor; an
emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance is
found to be necessary for the preservation of the public
peace, health and safety and shall be in full force and effect
as of and after the date set out in Section 1 of this ordinance.
