ORDINANCE NO. 7652
AN ORDINANCE TO AID THE LITTLE ROCK SCHOOL DISTRICT BY PROVIDING
FOR THE PAYMENT OF FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS TO SAID LITTLE ROCK
SPECIAL SCHOOL DISTRICT, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Due to the present high cost of operation and expenses,
the Little Rock School District is in need of financial
assistance to continue operations, and,
WHEREAS, It is to the best interests of all citizens of the City
of Little Rock that the public schools be operated in
an efficient manner, and,
WHEREAS, The Board of tR'ater Work Commissioners of the Little
Rock Municipal Water Works have by resolution granted
the City of Little Rock the sum of Fifteen Thousand
Dollars ($15,000.00) toward a contribution to the
School District,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That in consideration of the above facts, and
under the authority conferred by the State Legislature by Act 229
of the Acts of 1931, there is hereby appropriated from the Gener-
al Fund of the City Treasury the sum of Fifteen Thousand Dollars
($15,000.00) to be paid to the Little Rock School District, and
the proper city officials are hereby authorized and directed to
issue and execute the proper instruments to accomplish this pur-
pose.
SECTION 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed. Unless the provisions of this
ordinance are put into effect immediately the public peace, health,
and safety of the citizens of the City of Little Rock will be ad-
versely affected, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to
exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and approval.
