AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND REgUESTING THE BOARD OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS
TO ACCEPT BIDS FOR REPAIRING ASPHALT PLANT BOILER IN THE PUBLIC
WORKS DEPARTMENT; DECLARING AN EEIERGENCY AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES:
BE "IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Board of Public Affairs is hereby authorized and
requested to accept bids for repairing the asphalt plant boiler as
follows; not to exceed $1100.00.
1. Bob up leaking stay bolts in fire box.
2. yield crack and replace rivet in fire box door.
Caulk leaking rivets around fire door.
3. Renew 70 flues, each 3" X 121.
4. Renew plug on throat sheet.
5. Renew pipe between boiler and gate valve on blow down.
6. Clean scale out of boiler.
7. If necessary, replace the following:
Safety plug
Blow off pipe in mud ring
Plug in mud ring
SECTION 2. Because the repairs mentioned in Section 1 of this
ordinance are needed immediately for the preservation, maintenance and
construction of the streets in the City of Little Rock, and because
there?is danger of city streets deteriorating to the detriment of the
citizens of Little Rock and their property, an emergency is declared to
exist and this ordinance is found to be necessary for the preservation
of public peace, health and safety and shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage.
