AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 7600 PASSED
APRIL 19, 1948, BY CONTINUING THE SALARY INCREASE
PROVIDED THEREIN FOR THE YEAR 1949, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS,
This body by its Ordinance No. 7600 provided a salary increase
of $15.00 per month for certain personnel employed by the City
of Little Rock, said increase expiring December 31, 1948, and
WHEREAS.,
It now appears that the high cost of living will extend through-
out the year 1949,
NOVI THEREFORE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That Section 3 of Ordinance No. 7600, passed
April 19, 1948, be and the same is hereby amended to read as
follows :
The terms and provisions of this Ordinance shall be effect-
ive from the 1st day of April, 1948 up to and inclLuding the 31st
day of December, 1949. After the 31st day of December, 1949,
the salaries of such employees falling within the category shall
be in the same amount as they weire immediately prior to the
passage of this Ordinance, and the salary increase shall be in
no effect after the 31st day of December, 1949.
SECTION 2. It is hereby declared to be the express intent
and purpose of this ordinance to continue the salary increase
provided in Ordinance No. 7600 throughout the year 1949.
SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance shall be
in full force and effect from and after the passage and approval
thereof.
