7817,_,a . V�- K • ,' ORDINANCE N0. 7817 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION FOUR OF ORDINANCE NO. 7012 OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; Passed May 27, 1946. WHEREAS, Section Four of Ordinance No. 7012 of the Ordinances - Qf the C�tg of_Littie_Rock, Arkansas, provides a maximum and minimum fee to be charged by operators of taxicabs in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, operating upon the metered plan, the same being as follows: and, Minimum Rates for Metered Taxicabs: 25¢ for the first mile or fraction thereof; 5¢ for each additional half mile, or fraction thereof. Maximum Rates for Metered Taxicabs: 25¢ for the first mile or fraction thereof; 10¢ for each additiorolhEl-f mile or fraction thereofq WHEREAS, it is found that the aforementioned maximum rates which operators of metered taxicabs are allowed to charge are inadequate to allow the successful and profitable operation of such taxicabs over the streets ooflT the ECiRty. DER N 1 Arka '' ClTY' CGIE0101EF' THE CITY OF t hereafter Section Four of Ordinance No. 7012 of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas shall be repealed, and that instead of said section as it now appears, the following minimum and maximum rates shall apply to metered taxicabs operating in Little Rock, Arkansas: Minimum Rates for Metered Taxicabs: 25¢ for the first mile or fraction thereof; 5 ¢ for each additional half mile, or fraction thereof. Maximum Rates for %petered Taxicabs: 45¢ for the first nine - tenths of a mile or fraction thereof; 10¢ for each additional half mile or fraction thereof. Said Ordinance No. 7012 shall remain in full force and effect in all other respects. SECTION 2. Because of the cost of operating metered taxicabs in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas h as increased since the passage of Section Four of said Ordinance No. 7012, on May 27, 1946, and since it is no longer profitable for operators of metered cabs to operate at a profit and there is liklihood - 2 - iIRDP�N" R of the operators of such taxicabs losing a material portion of their capital and- a- l3R11hood that some such operators will be forced to abandon their operations to the detriment of the Public, an emergency is hereby declared and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect on and after the date of its passage.
