AN ORDINANCE DECLARING AMBULANCES TO BE AUTHORIZED EMERGENCY
VEHICLES WHILE ON EMERGENCY RUNS, REGULATING THEIR USE AS SUCH,
REPEALING SECTION 76 of ORDINANCE NO. 5876 OF THE ORDINANCES OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK:
Section 1. From and after the effective date of thfa ' x' y ��;:: _'
ordinance, ambulances shall be authorized emergency vehicles within
the provisions of Sections 75 and 82(b) of Ordinance No. 5876 of
the Ordinances of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, while engaged
on emergency runs.
Section 2. For the purpose of this ordinance an emergency
run by an ambulance is defined to be the use of the ambulance in
picking ing up and transporting a person or persons in immediate need of
medical or surgical treatment. The run shall cease to be an
emergency run when the delivery of such person or persons has been
completed.
Section 3. Except as herein provided, all ambulances
driven on the streets of this City shall comply with all existing
traffic regulations or which may hereafter be enacted in like
manner as all other motor vehicles and shall be subject to the same
penalties for the violation of such traffic regulations.
Section 4. Section 76 of Ordinance No. 5876 of the
Ordinances of the City of Little''
� Y Rock is hereby repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an
emergency measure, the necessity therefor being the immediate
preservation of the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of
the City of Little Rock, and shall take effect and be in full force
from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor.
