3 AN ORDINANCE TO DISPENSE WITH THE REQUIREMENT OF
4 COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER
5 TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE HUNDRED
6 EIGHTY -FOUR THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED NINETY -THREE AND
7 40/100 DOLLARS ($184,493.40), INCLUDING APPLICABLE TAXES,
8 WITH MOTOROLA, INC., AS THE SOLE SOURCE PROVIDER FOR
9 THE PURCHASE OF FORTY (40) MOTOROLA PORTABLE POLICE
10 RADIOS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

WHEREAS, the Little Rock Police Department needs forty (40) Motorola Portable Police Radios to
supply the upcoming recruit class and for a back -up supply for emergency situations where additional
personnel are required; and,
WHEREAS, Motorola, Inc., is the sole supplier of radio equipment for the City of Little Rock and
competitive bidding should be waived and the contract awarded to Motorola, Inc., as the sole course
provider for the purchase of forty (40) portable radios in the amount of One Hundred Eighty -Four
Thousand, Four Hundred Ninety -Three and 40/100 Dollars ($184,493.40), including applicable taxes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to dispense with competitive
bidding and enter into a contract in the amount of One Hundred Eighty -Four Thousand, Four Hundred
Ninety -Three and 40 /100 Dollars ($184,493.40), including applicable taxes, with Motorola, Inc., as the
sole source provider for the purchase of forty (40) Motorola portable police radios for the Little Rock
Police Department.
Section 2. Funds for this purchase are available from the Special Project Fund for Police Radios.
Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the ordinance which shall remain in full force and
effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
ordinance.
Section 4. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with
any provision of this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
