ORDINANCE NO. 8457•
AN ORDINANCE LEVYINr ASSESSIvr2iNTS AGAINST REAL PROPERTY LOCATED
WITHIN THE BOUNDARIES OF STREET I11PROVEIIENT DISTRICT NO. 585
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, more than two- thirds in value of the property holders
owning property adjoining the locality to be affected and situated
in Street Improvement District No. 585, organized for the purpose of
hard - surfacing that portion of Bishop Street from 25th Street to
27th Street, and hard - surfacing that portion of Zest 26th Street
from High Street to I:iarshall Street, have petitioned the Council of
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, for the construction of said
improvement, and that the cost thereof shall be assessed upon the
real property of said district according to the benefits received; and
VEEREAS, said benefits received by each and every block, lot
and parcel of real property situated in said district equals or
exceeds the local assessment thereon; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of said improvement is 15,086.97
Dollars;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAIITED BY THE CITY COTHCIL OF T11E
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK:
Section 1. That said several blocks, lots and parcels of
real property in said district be assessed according to the assess-
ment list for said improvement district as the same now remains in
the office of the City Clerk, and that 6 per centime of the
assessment of each of said blocks, lots and parcels shall be collected
by the County Collector on or before the first of A-uril ,
19 51 , and 6 per cent-am of the assessment shall be collected
with the first installment of the general taxes becoming due more than
five (5) months thereafter and annually thereafter with the first
installment of general taxes until the whole of said local assessment
shall be paid.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage.
