AN ORDINANCE
LEVYING ASSESSMENT
IN
STREET IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO, 589
OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
WHEREAS, more than two- thirds (2 /3rds) in value of the
property owners owning property adjoining the locality to be affect-
ed and situated in Street Improvement District No. 589 organized
for the purpose of grading, draining, curbing, guttering and paving
sV« Street from the west side of McKinley Street to a line described
as a line from the west line of Lot 26, Block 1, Hollywood Addition
extended south across ^Ve Street to the west line of Lot 139, West-
over Hills Addition, have petitioned the City Council of the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas, for construction of said improvement and
l that the cost thereof be assessed upon the real property of said
v3strict according to the benefits received; and
WHEREAS, said benefits received by each and every block,
lot and parcel of real property situated in said District equals or
exceeds the local assessment thereon; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost of said improvement is Fifteen
Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00))
THEREFORE, it is now ordained by the City Council of the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas hat the said several blocks, lots
and parcels of real property in said District be assessed according w
to the assessment list for said Improvement District as the same now
- To4ma3.nsin the office of the City Clerk and that six and one -half per
centum of the assessment on each of said blocks, lots or parcels of
real property shall be collected by the County Collector of Pulaski
County with the first installment of general taxes becoming due in
the year 1951 and annually thereafter six and one -half per centum of
said assessment shall be collected with the first installment of
general taxes until the whole of said local assessment shall be paid.
