AN ORDINANCE RELEASING, VACATING AND ABANDONING DODGE STREET
BETWEEN VACATED EAST FOURTEENTH STREET AND THE WEST LINE OF
THE RIGHT -OF-AY OF THE CHICAGO, ROCK ISLAND AND PACIFIC
RAIINAY COMPANY, BEING THE INTERSECTION OF EAST FOURTEENTH
STREET, VACATED, AND DODGE STREET, IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS, AND FOR OTHER P[TRPOSES.
WHEREAS, a petition was filed with the City Council of the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 6th day of November, 1950, asking
the City Council to vacate and abandon all that portion of Dodge Street
lying east of vacated East Fourteenth Street and west of the west line
right- 4f-�ray of the Chicago.. Rook . Is land and Pacific Bnilway
Nepany, and abutting Blocks 7 and 2, and 8 and 1, Dodge's Addition to
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, the same being the intersection of
Fourteenth Street, vacated, and Dodge Street, now appearing of record -
in Record Book AB, Page 224, in the Office of the Recorder of Pulaski.
County, Arkansas; and
1BEREAS, after due notices as pequired by law, the Council
has, at the time and place mentioned in the notices, heard all persons
desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained that the
street, hereinbefore described, has heretofore been dedicated to the
public use as a street herein described; has not been actually used by
the public generally for a period of at least five years subsequent to
the filing of the plat; that all.the owners of property abutting upon
the street to be vacated have filed with the Council their written con-
sent to such abandonment; and that public interest and welfare will.not
be adversely affected by the abandonmoent of such street,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSASS
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rook hereby releases, vacates and aban-
dons all its rights, together with the' rights of -,%ba Pub"
lic generally, in and to the street designated as follows
That portion of Dodge Street, intersecting vacated East
Fourteenth Street extended, and lying west of the west
line of the right -of -Tway of the Chicago, Rock Island and
Pacific Railway Company, which is the east line.of Dodge
Street projected as originally platted, and bounded on
the west by East Fourteenth Street, heretofore vacated
under the provisions of Ordinance No. 8486; bounded on
the north by that portion of Dodge Street, heretofore va-
cated under the provisions of Ordinance No. 8486; bounded
on the south by that portion of Dodge Street heretofore
vacated under the provisions of Ordinance No. 7533, being
a tract of land 60 Ft. east and west by 60 Ft. north and
south, formerly the intersection of East Fourteenth Street
and Dodge Street, in the City of Little Rook, Arkansas.
SECTION 2. A copy of the ordinance duly certified by the City Clerk of
-Little Rock, Arkansas, shall be filed in the office of the
Recorder of Pulaski County, Arkansas, and recorded in the
Deed Records of said County.
SECTION 3. The provisions of this ordinance shall be cumulative to the
provisions of Ordinance No. 7533, approved February 23, 1918,
and Ordinance No.-8486, approved October 23, 1950; and shall,
in no manner whatsoever be construed as a repeal of any of
the provisions of said Ordinances Nos. 7533 and 84869
SECTION 4* This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and af-
ter its passage.
