ORDINANCE NO. 8626
AN ORDINANCE RECLASSIFYING GARDEN HOMES ADDITION AND GARDEN HONES EXTENSION
ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, AND AN AREA LYING EAST, SOUTH,
AND WEST OF SAID ADDITIONS AND ADJACENT THERETO, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.
5420 AS AMENDED; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the Garden Homes Addition and the Garden Homes
Extension Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, embracing an
area lying south of the south line of 15th.Seet.to a point 110 feet south
of the south line of East 21st Street, and from the west boundary line of
the said subdivisions to their eastermost boundaries heretofore classified
and zoned as "K" Heavy Industrial District under the terms of Zoning
Ordinance No. 5420, is hereby rezoned and reclassified and the same is
hereby declared to be in "B" Residence District under the terms of said
Zoning Ordinance.
SECTION 2. That Ordinance No. 5420 and the Zoning Map thereto
attached and made a part thereof, are hereby amended to permit the
reclassification and rezoning of the said additions to the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas, as outlined in Section 1 hereof, said property to be hereafter
known and classified as being in the "B" Residence District.
SECTION 3. That the area described as follows:
Beginning at a paint in the east R/W line of the Chicago -Rock
Island & Pacific Railroad (hereinafter referred to as the
CRI&P R.R.), where it intersects the south R/W line of 15th
Street extended westward said point being 791.74 ft. more or
less, west of the intersection of the S.R/W line o� 15th St: &the W.line of
Security Avenue in Garden Homes Extension to the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas; thence easterly 600.05 ft. more
or less, to the northwest corner of the Garden Homes Addition;
thence in a southerly direction 922.05 ft. more or less, to
the southwest corner of the Garden Homes Addition; thence in
an easterly direction 37.6 ft. more or less, to a point in
the south property line of the Garden Homes Addition, which
point is also the northwest corner of the Garden Homes
Extension Addition; thence in a southerly direction 1027.5
ft. more or less, to the southwest corner of Garden Homes
Extension Addition; thence east 470.56 ft. more or less,
to the southeast corner of the Garden-Homes Extension Addi-
tion; thence northerly along the east lines of the said
Garden Homes Extension Addition and the Garden Homes Addi-
tion 1950.0 ft. more or less, to the northeast corner of
the Garden Homes Addition, which point is also the point of
intersection of the south R/W line of East 15th Street and
the west R/W line of Fletcher Street, 66 ft. wide; thence
in an easterly direction along the south R/W line of east
15th Street crossing Fletcher Street for a distance of 380
ft. to the intersection of the south R/W line of East 15th
Street and the west RA4 line of Cherry Street 55 ft. wide

otherwise known asRe i:char dt Street; thence in a southerly
direction along the west R/W line of Cherry Street and the
west R/W line of Cherry Street extended, which west R/W
line of Cherry Street extended is also the east property
line of the Manufacturers Addition,1787.5 feet, more or
less, to the southeast corner of the Manufacturers Addi-
tion; thence westerly along the south line of the Manu-
facturers Addition 1320 feet, more or 1ess, to the
southwest corner of the Manufacturers Addition; thence
continuing westerly along the south line of the Manu-
facturers Addition extended 89.0 feet, more or less,
to a point in the east R/W line of the CRI&P,said
point being the intersection of the south line of the
Manufacturers Addition extended and the east R/W line
of the CRI&P; thence in a northerly direction along
the east R/W line of the CRI&P,1950.0 feet, more or
less, to the point of beginning; said area lying east,
south, and west of the Garden Homes and the Garden
Homes Extension Additions and adjacent thereto in the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
heretofore classified and zoned as "K" Heavy Industrial District under the
terms of Zoning Ordinance No. 5420, is hereby rezoned and reclassified and
the same is hereby declared to be in "J" Light Industrial District under
the terms of said Zoning Ordinance.
SECTION 4. That Ordinance No. 5420 and the Zoning Map thereto
attached and made a part thereof, are hereby amended to permit the
reclassification and rezoning of the land as described above under Section
31 said' areik -to be hereafter known and classified as being in the "J" Light
Industrial District.
SECTION 5. That this ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage.
