8627ORDINANCE N0. 8627 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 5420, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, SECTION TWENTY-THREE (23), CHANGES AND AMENDMENTS, AND ADDING A NEW SECTION TWENTY -SEVEN (27), ANNEXED TERRITORY, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. That Section Twenty Three (23), Changes and Amend- vents of Ordinance No. 5420, as amended, of the Ordinances of the City of Little Rock is hereby amended to read as follows: The City Council of the City of Little Rock may from time to time, on its own motion or on petition, after a public hearing of which at least fifteen (15) days notice has been given in an official newspaper, amend, supplement or change, modify or repeal the boundaries or regulations herein or subsequently established, after submitting same to the City Planning Commission for its recommendations and report, except that when an application for the redistricting of a specific parcel or parcels of land has been denied reapplication shall not be made for a period of six months unless and until the owner or owners file an affidavit, in the office of the Planning Commission setting forth that conditions have changed materially respecting that particular parcel or parcels of land, satisfactory to the Planning Commission. SECTION 2. That Zoning Ordinance be further amended by the addition of Section Twenty -Seven (27) to read as follows: Section 27. Annexed Territory. Territory which may here- after be annexed to the City of Little Rock shall be classified in the "A" One- Family District immediately upon final acceptance by the City until a zoning plan of the area is prepared and adopted. Council shall proceed diligently to zone the newly annexed territory after a public hearing, of which due notice has been given, as provided by this notice. SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and it is for the best interest and in order to promote the peace, health, safety and general welfare of the citizens of Little Rock, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage.
