AN ORDINANCE FIXING AND ESTABLISHING AN ANNUAL PRIVILEGE LICENSE TAX FOR ALL
PERSONS, FIRMS, OR CORPORATIONS PRODUCING ELECTRICITY WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, DECLARING SUCH TO BE A PRIVIIEGE, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The manufacturing and /or producing or distributing of electrical
current and electrical power within the City of Little Rock is hereby declared to be
a privilege, and any person, firm, or corporation engaged in such business shall pay
to the City of Little flock each year, beginning with the first day of October, 1952,
an amount equal to four (4) per cent of the preceding calendar yearts gross electric
revenue (excluding industrial and municipal revenues), as paid to such persons, firms,
or corporations by customersthereof, residing within the corporate limits of the City
of Little Rock. Payments shall be made by such person, firm, or corporation to the
City of Little Rock in equal quarterly installments. Ind,.iztrial revenues siaal.l be those
revenues as are defined as such by the Arkansas Public Service Commission. Municipal
revenues shall be all those revenues as are covered in Section 2 of this ordinance.

Payment of the tax imposed upon such /firm or corporation shall constitute and be
considered as complete payment, and discharge of all license fees, charges, impositions,
or taxes (other than automobile license fees, special millage taxes, general ad valorem
taxes, and any amount due the City of Little Rock from any such companies under any ex-
isting contract or franchise).
SECTION 2. Electricity furnished the City of Little Rock by any such person,
firm or corporation shall be paid for by the City in accordance with the applicable
rate schedules of such person, firm, or corporation now on file and /or as they may in
the future be approved by the Arkansas Public Service Commission.
SECTION 3. Nothing herein contained shall be construed as giving the Power
Company any rights or privileges in addition to those already enjoyed or owned by said
Company to maintain and op erate an electrical distribution system within said City.
This ordinance shall remain in effect for a term of five (5) years from the first day of
October, 1952, and for successive periods of one year each unless and until cancelled
not more than six-months nor less than three months prior to the expiration of the original
term or any anniversary thereof. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and approval.
