AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 9129; AUTHORIZING
AND REQUESTING THE BOARD OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS TO PURCHASE
PROPERTY LOCATED AT 707 EAST CAPITOL AVENUE.FROM ERNEST
P. HARRIS AND JOHANNA E. HARRIS; APPROPRIATING FOURTEEN
THOUSAND DOLLARS ($14,000.00) TO PAY THE AFORESAID
OWNERS FOR THIS PROPERTY, AND ALSO THE SUM OF SEVEN
HUNDRED DOLLARS ($700.00) TO.PAY REALTOR PATRICH
HARDIMG FOR HIS SERVICES IN THIS MATTER, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 9129, directing the
City Attorney's office to condemn property at 5th and Rector
Streets for the construction of a fire station thereon, is hereby
repealed in its entirety.
SECTION 2. That the Board of Public Affairs is hereby
authorized and requested to purchase property located at 707 East
Capitol Avenue, said property being more particularly described
as f 0llowe, to -wit;
Lot 3 and West 31 feet of Lot 4, Block 4, STEVENSONtS ADDITION
to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, more particularly described as:
Lot 3 and part of Lot 4, Block 4, STEVENSON'S ADDITION to the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas, beginning at a point on the North boundary
line of Block 4, STEVENSON'S ADDITION to the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, 181 feet eastward from the Northwest corner of said block;
thence southwesterly 150 feet along a line which makes an interior
angle with the said North boundary line of 910 101 to the North
boundary line of the alley; thence westward 71 feet, 8 inches, along
`'t1b- North line of the alley to the southwest corner of Lot -3, in
said block; thence northward to the northwest corner of said Lot 3,
and thence eastward along the Nort$ line of said block to the point
of beginning,
for the sum of Fourteen Thousand Dollars ($14,000.00) from the owners
thereof, Ernest F. Harris and Johanna E. Harris.
SECTION 3. That the sum of Fourteen Thousand Dollars
($14,000.00) is hereby appropriated to pay Ernest P. Harris and
Johanna E. Harris and anyone else who may have an interest in said

property located at 707 East Capitol Avenue. That an additional
sum of Seven Hundred Dollars 0700,00) is hereby appropriated to
pay Patrick Harding, Realtor, 510 West 16th Street, for his
services in obtaining said property for the City.
SECTION 4. That the Mayor and the City Clerk are
directed to issue the Cityts warrants in the sum of Fourteen
Thousand Dollars ($140000.00) and the sum of Seven Hundred

SECTION 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and since it is
necessary for the safety of the citizens of Little Rock that
this fire station be completed as soon as possible, an emergency
is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect immediately upon its passage and approval.
