ORDINANCE NO. 9221
AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING THAT CERTAIN
PORTION OF THE STREET, 60 FEET WIDE, RUNNING BETWEEN
BLOCKS 4 and 5, WATKINS ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, COM IONLY KNOWN AS EAST 28th STREET, BUT SHOWN
ON THE PLAT OF WATKINS ADDITION AS 27th STRUT, BEGIN-
NING AT THE WEST LIAL OF BARBER AVENUE AND RUNNING
THENCE WEST 130 FEET.
WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the City
Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 11th
day of 1-Jay, 1953, asking the City Council to vacate and
abandon:
That portion of the street, sixty (60) feet wide,
running between Blocks Four (4) and Five (5),
Watkins Addition to the City of Little Rock,
commonly known as Fast Twenty - Eighth (28th) Street,
but shown on the plat of Watkins Addition as
Twenty- Seventh (27th) Street, beginning at the
West line of Barber Avenue and running thence Nest
one hundred thirty (130) feet; and,
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the
Council has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice,
heard all persons desiring to be heard on the question, and
has ascertained that the portion of the street hereinbefore
described has heretofore been dedicated to the public use as
a street; has not been actually used by the public generally
for a period of at least five years subsequent to the filing
of the plat dedicating said street; that all owners of the
Property abutting upon the portion of the street to be vacated
have filed with the Council their written consent to such
abandonment; and the public interest and welfare will not be
adversely _affected by the abandonment of the portion of the
street hereinbefore described;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby
releases, vacates and abandons all its rights, together with
the rights of the public generally, in and to that portion of

the street designated as follows:
That portion of the street, sixty (60) feet wide,
running between Blocks Four (4) and Five (5),
'Natkins Addition to the City Of Little Rock,
commonly known as Fast Twenty- Eighth (28th) Street,
but shown on the plat of 71atkins Addition as
Twenty- Seventh (27th) Street, beginning at the
;lest line of Barber Avenue and running thence "lest
one hundred thirty (130) feet.
SECTION 2. A copy of this ordinance, duly certified
by the City Clerk, shall be filed in the office of the recorder
for Pulaski County, Arkansas, and recorded in the Deed Records
of this County.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be
in force from and after its passage.
