ORDINANCE NO. 9227
AN ORDINANCE TO CREATE A POSITION OF CORPORATION CUT
INSPECTOR IN THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY,
ESTABLISHING THE SALARY THEREFOR AND PROVIDING FOR
THE CITY TO BE REIMBURSED FOR SAID SALARY BY THE
LITTLE ROCK MUNICIPAL WATER WORKS, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That there is hereby created a position of
Corporation Cut Inspector in the Engineering Department of the City
of Little Rock whose salary shall be computed at the rate of One
Dollar Thirty Cents 01. 30) per hour worked, and it is further pro-
vided that the City shall be reimbursed for said salary by the Little
Rock Municipal Water Works.
SECTION 2. That the said Corporation Cut Inspector shall
be under the direction and supervision of the City Engineer, and
his duties shall be the approval or rejection in part or in the en-
tirety of the work of the Contractor relating to the repairing or
replacing of the streets, curbs, gutters, storm sewers, sewers,
utility lines, pavements etc., within the city relating to or re-
sulting from the installation of the new water mains now under
contract by the Little Rock Municipal Water Works.
SECTION 3. That the Corporation Cut Inspector shall be
selected by the Civil Service Commission as now provided by law.
SECTION 4. That this ordinance shall be in effect and
full force during the term of the construction work necessary for the
installation of the new water mains now under contract by the Little
Rock Municipal Water Works and upon the completion and approval of
said construction work, this position of Corporation Cut Inspector
shall terminate.
SECTION 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith are hereby amended to conform with the provisions of
this ordinance. As the installation of these new water mains and
the proper replacing or repairing of the streets, curbs, gutters etc.,

of the City is of major importance to the Citizens of the City,
and unless the provisions of this ordinance are put into effect
immediately, the Public Peace, Health and Safety of the citizens
of the City of Little Rock will be adversely affected; therefore,
an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
