SECOND ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS,
FROM VANCE STREET EAST A DISTE,NCE OF 140 FEET TO AN
ALLEY, DEDICATED BY PLAT DATED OCTOBER 27, 1919, OF
RECORD AT PAGE 44 OF PLAT BOOK 2 IN THE PULASKI
COUNTY RECORDER'S OFFICE, PROVIDING FOR A CERTIFIED
COPY OF THIS ORDINANCE BEING PLACED OF RECORD IN
SAID RECORDER'S OFFICE, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, a petition was duly filed with the City
Council of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, dated May 24,
1953, asking the City Council to vacate and abandon a strip
of land running east and west, lying between Lot 6, Block 38,
and Lot 1, Block 40, BRAGG'S SECOND ADDITION to the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas, from Vance Street east a distance of
one hundred and forty (140) feet to an alley, by Mandie Lewis
and George E. Myers, owners of the property abutting said
street on the north and south; that said strip of land was
dedicated as a public street as shown in Plat Book 2 at page
44 of the Plat Records in the Pulaski County Recorder's office; and
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the
Council has, at the time and place mentioned in said notice,
heard all persons desiring to be heard on the question and has
ascertained that the strip of land hereinabove described has
heretofore been dedicated to the public as a street; that said
strip so dedicated has not been used by the public within the
last seven years; that Mandie Lewis and George E. Myers are the
owners of the property abutting upon that portion of said street
to be vacated, and have filed they written consent to such an
abandonment; and that the public interest and welfare will not
be adversely affected by the abandonment of said strip of land
for public use:
NOW, TUEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, hereby
releases, vacates and abandons all its rights, together with the
rights of the public generally, in and to the following described

strip of land heretofore dedicated for use as a street as shown
by a plat, dated October 27, 1919, and recorded in Plat Book 2
at page 44 of Plat Records of Pulaski County, Arkansas;
That portion of East 25th Street lying between Lot 6,
Block 38 and Lot 1, Block 40, BRAGG'S SECOND ADDITION
to the City of Little Rock, running from Vance Street
east 140 feet to an alley.
SECTION 2. A copy of this ordinance, duly certified
by the City Clerk, shall be filed in the office of the Recorder
of Pulaski County, Arkansas.
SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and since this
ordinance is necessary to the peace, health and safety of the
citizens of Little Rock, an emergency is hereby declared to
exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
Immediately upon its passage and approval.
