AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY TO THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. It is hereby recognized that a majority of
the real estate owners of a tract of land contiguous and adjoin-
ing the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, duly petitiened the County
Court of Pulaski County, Arkansas, that their property be annexed
to the City of Little Rock; and that after publication of notice
of the hearing on said petition and other formalities required by
the Statutes of Arkansas a hearing was held and the County Court
of Pulaski County made a finding that all requirements for annexa-
tion had been met and on January 12, 1954s entered an order annex-
ing to the City of Little Rock the lands described in this ordi-
nance; and that no proceeding was instituted in the Circuit Court
of Pulaski County to prevent the annexation within thirty days
from the date of the order of the County Court of Pulaski County.
SECTION 2. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, pursuant
to the statutes of Arkansas, does hereby accept the said annexation
and the following described lands are hereby annexed to the City
of Little Rock:
Begin at the Northeast corner of the West Half of the Northwest
Quarter of Section 18, Township 1 North, Range 12 West; run
thence South along the East line of the said West Half of the
Northwest Quarter of Section 18 to the Southeast corner of said
West Half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 18; run thence
West along the South line of the said West Half of the Northwest
Quarter (and as said line may be extended) to the West- line of
South Hayes Street; run thence North along the West line of
South Hayes Street to the Southeast corner of the Northeast Quar
ter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 130 Township.l North,
Range 13 West; run thence West along the South line of the said
Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter to the 3olithiiist
corner of said Northeast Quarter of the Northeast CLuarter; run
thence North along the West line of the said Northeast Quarter
of the Northeast Quarter to a point where the South line of
Block 8, Hamilton & Braekts Addition, intersects the West line
of the said Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter; run
thence West along the South line of Block 80 Hamilton & Brack's
Addition (as extended to include one -half the adjacent street)
to the Southwest corner of said Block 8; run thence North along
the West line of said Block 8 (as extended to include one -half
the adjacent street) to the Northwest corner of said Block 8;

run thence West along the South line of Block 2, Hamilton &
Brackts Addition (as extended to include one -half the adjacent
street) to the Southwest corner of said Block 2; run thence
North along the West line of said Block 2 (as extended to
include one -half the adjacent street) to a point on the South
line of the South Half of the Southeast Quarter of Section 12,
Township 1 North, Range 13 West; run thence West along the
South line of the. said South Half of the Southeast Quarter
to the Southwest corner of the said South Half of the Southeast
Quarter; run thence North to the Northwest corner of the North -
weet Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section Y2, Township
1 North, Range 13 West; run thence in a Northeastwardly direc-
tion along the East line of the Boyle Park Road to a point on
the North line of the Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quar-
ter of Section 12, Township 1 North, Range 13 West; run thence
East along the North line of the said Southwest Quarter of the
Northeast Quarter of Section 12 to the Northeast corner of the
said Southwest Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 12;
run thence South to the Southeast corner of the Northwest Quarter
of the Southeast Quarter of Section 12, Township 1 North, Range
13 West; run thence East along the North line of the South Half
of the Southeast Quarter of Section 120 Township 1 North, Range
13 West to the Northeast corner of said South Half of the South-
east Quarter of Section 12; run thence North to the Northwest
corner of the West Half of the Southwest Quarter of Section 7,
Township 1 North, Range 12 West; run thence East to the North-
east corner of said West Half of the Southwest Quarter of Sec-
tion 7; run thence South to the point of beginning. The above
described lands including the West Half of the Northwest Quarter
of Section 18, Township 1 North, Range 12 West; the West Half
of the Southwest Quarter of Section 7, Township 1 North, Range
12 West; all of Broadmoor Addition as presently platted; and all
that part of the following tracts which have not been platted
as Broadmoor Addition, the South Half of the Southeast Quarter
of Section 120 Township 1 North, Range 13 West; the Northwest
Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 12, Township 1 North
Range 13 West; and all that part of the Southwest Quarter of the
Northeast Quarter of Section 12, Township 1 North, Range 13 West
lying East and South of the Boyle Park Road.

SECTION 3. It appearing that the residents in the area
hereby annexed are suffering serious hardship and inconvenience
because they are deprived of the services provided by the City of
Little Rock, in order to preserve the peace, health and safety of
the people of the City of Little Rock, an emergency is hereby d®-
clared and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage.
