ORDINANCE NO. 9536
AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF
McALMONT STREET
WHEREAS, a Petition was duly filed with the City Council of
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, on the 29th day of March, 1954,
asking the City Council to vacate and abandon a portion of
McAlmont Street, the said street being designated on the Plat of
Bragg's Second Addition to the City of Little Rock now appearing
of record in Plat Book 2, Page 441, in the office of the Recorder
of Pulaski County, the portion of McAlmont Street to be vacated and
abandoned being hereinafter specifically described; and
WHEREAS, after due notice, as required by law, the Council
has, at the time and place mentioned in the Notice, heard all
persons desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained
that the portion of the street hereinafter described has heretofore
been dedicated to the public use as a street; that all of the prop-
erty abutting the hereinafter described portion of McAlmont Street
is owned by an educational institution; that Little Rock School
District, owner of the property abutting the said portion of
McAlmont Street to be vacated has filed with the Council its written
consent to such vac ation; and that public interest and welfare will
not be adversely affected by the abandonment of such portion of
McAlmont Street:
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock hereby releases, vacates
and abandons all of its rights, together with the rights of the

nated as follows:
Commencing at the northeast corner of Lot Twelve (12),
Block Thirty -eight (38). Bragg's Second Addition to
the City of Little Rock, and run thence South along
the West line of McAlmont Street to the North line of
Roosevelt Road; thence East to the East line of
McAlmont Street; thence North along the East line of
McAlmont Street to the northwest corner of Lot One (1),
Block Thirty -nine (39), Braggts Second Addition to the
City of Little Rock; and thence West across MoAlmont
Street to the point of beginning
SECTION 2. Nothing herein shall prejudice either Little
Rock School District or Little Rock Municipal Water Works,
Arkansas Power & Light Company and Arkansas Louisiana Gas
Company with respect to the cost of relocating poles, wires
and pipes.
SECTION 3. A copy of this ordinance, duly certified by
the City Clerk, shall be filed in the office of the Recorder of
Pulaski County and recorded in the Deed Records of said County.
SECTION 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage.
