AN ORDINANCE VACATING AND ABANDONING THAT PORTION OF
WEST TWENTY- SEVENTH STREET LYING BETWEEN JEFFERSON
STREET AND MADISON STREET IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS., a petition was duly filed with the C -ity Council
of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas on the 23rd day of July, 1954,
asking the City Council to vacate and abandon that portion of West
27th Street, extended, running between Jefferson Street on the East
to Madison Street on the West, and designated as a one -half street
13 feet wide North and South by 300 feet East and West on the plat
of Schneiderts Subdivision of the North one -half of Lot 6, Block 3,
H yde Park Addition now of record in the office of the Recorder of
Pulaski County in Plat Book 3 at page 47; and
WHEREAS, after due notices as required by law, the Council
has, at the time and place mentioned in the notice, heard all persons
desiring to be heard on the question and has ascertained that the
portion of the street hereinbefore described has heretofore been
dedicated to the public use as a street; that the same has not been
actually used by the public generally for a period of at least five
years subsequent to the filing of the plat and prior to the filing
of the said petition; that all of the owners of the property abutting
upon the portion of the street to be vacated have filed with the
Council their written consent to such abandonment; and that the public
interest and welfare will not be adversely affected by the abandon -
ment of such portion of said street; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas hereby re-
leases, vacates and abandons all its rights, together with the rights
of the public generally, except for the preservation of an easement
for the rights and needs of public utilities for ingress and egress
to maintain presently existing lines over and in said area, in and to

the portion of the street designated as follows:
That portion of West 27th Street, extended, running be-
tween Jefferson Street on the East to Madison Street on
. :._ the West, and designated as a one -halt' street 13 feet
wide North and South by 300 feet East and West on the
plat of Schneider's Subdivision of the North one -half of
Lot 6, Block 3, Hyde Park Addition to the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas, now of record in the office of the Re-
corder of Pulaski County in Plat Book 3, at page 47.
SECTION 2. A copy of this ordinance duly certified by the
City Clerk shall be filed in the office of the Recorder of Pulaski
County, Arkansas, and recorded in the deed records of the County.
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in
force from and after its passage.
