ORDINANCE NO. 9986
AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING STREET IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT NO. 605 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
WHEREAS, parties claiming to be the owners of more than two
thirds in assessed value of real property included within the
territory hereinafter described have filed a petition praying that
an improvement district be established for the purposes hereinafter
set out; and
'WHEREAS, after due notice as required by law, the City Council
City of Little Rock, Arkansas, has heard all parties desiring
to 'be heard and has ascertained that said petition was signed by more
than two thirds in assessed value of the owners of real property
within said territory; and
WHEREAS, an ordinance establishing the district was duly passed

on September 26, 1955, and was published in the Arkansas/aagpM on
September 30, 1955, but in the publication an error was made in the
description of the property included in the district, and this error
was not discovered until more than thirty days after the publication
of the ordinance, and therefore under the statute the publication and
the ordinance are invalid so that it becomes necessary to re -enact
the ordinance establishing the district; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas:
SECTION 1. There is hereby established an improvement district
embracing the following property in the Original City of Little Rock,

for the purpose of doing the necessary grating, draining, curbing,
guttering and paving of the f ollowing part of the f ollowing street
In the City of Little Rock, Arkansas:
WEST THIRD STREET from the west boundary of
Broadway to the east boundary of Cross Street,
in order to widen said street approximately seven (7) feet on the
north side thereof and approximately seven (7) feet on the south side
thereof, with present drive -ways or curb cuts to remain in their
present lateral dimension; said wokk to be done in such a manner and
with such materials as the commissimers to be elected for the said
improvement district shall deem for the best interest of said district,
and that the cost thereof over and above any aid received from any
agency of the Federal or City government be assessed and charged upon
the real property above described, provided the liability of each lot
or tract of land shall be limited to its assessed benefits.
Said district shall be known as Street Improvement District
No. 605 of Little Rock, Arkansas, and C. C. Collie, Jr., B. T_ Hoff -,
and E. F. Jennings are hereby named commissioners, who shall compose
the Board of Improvement for said District.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force
from and after its passage.
