AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 57+5, AS
AMENDED BY ORDINANCES NO. 5959, 9016, AND 9117; ESTAB-
LISHING FEE PAYMENTS FOR THE COLLECTION OF GARBAGE IN THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That Section 1 of Ordinance No. 5745, as sm ended
by Ordinances No. 5959, 9016, and 9117, is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"Section 1. That from and after the passage and approval of this
ordinance, all garbage, waste, trash and refuse in the City of Little
Rock shall be collected regularly by employees of the City of Little
Rock; and for said services the Sanitation Department of the City of
Little Rock, or its duly authorized representatives, shall collect
fees as set out
in the following schedule.
A. The rate shall be seventy -five cents (75/) per month
for each single residence or multiple unit dwelling. This
charge will be placed on the water bill where they have in-
dividual water meters excepting
1. Commercial customers (so- called) will be charged
according to the time required to make the pick -up,
figured on a basis of Fifteen Dollars 015.00) per
truck crew hour.
B. All customers who have water meters will be billed
on the water bill. All other customers will be billed on
annual basis by the Sanitation Department.
C. That all other contracts regarding the charge for
the collection of garbage, which are not affected by the
above, shall remain in full force and effect.
D. That the collections of all delinquencies and the
amounts due thereunder shall not be affected or changed by
this ordinance.

E. The date of November 1, 1955 is hereby estab-
lished as the first day on which the rate, as herein provided,
shall become effective."
That all the rest of Section 1 of Ordinance No. 5745, as amended
by Ordinances No. 5959, 9016, and 9117, shall continue in full force and
effect as presently set forth.
SECTION 2. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed; and since it is necessary to
make proper precaution and regulations for the collection of garbage
and since the proper collection of said garbage is endangered by reason
of the fact that there is not adequate money on hand to collect same in
a proper manner, an emergency is hereby declared to exist; and this
ordinance is found to be necessary for the immediate preservation of the
public peace, health and safety of the citizens of Little Rock, Arkansas,
and the same shall be in full force and effect from and after November 1,
1955.
