ORDINANCE NO. 9895
AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, OF A TERRITORY OF LAND
LOCATED IN SECTIONS 1 AND 2, TOWNSHIP 1 NORTH,
RANGE 13 WEST AND SECTIONS 25, 26, 35 AND 36,
TOWNSHIP 2 NORTH, RANGE 13 WEST, PULASKI COUNTY,
ARKANSAS, BEING CONTIGUOUS TO THE EXISTING NORTH
AND WEST BOUNDARY OF SAID CITY, AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, upon the petition of a majority of the real estate
owners owning a majority of the acreage in the area affected, as
required by law, and after due notice of hearing on said petition
for the time and in the manner prescribed by law, the County Court
of Pulaski County, Arkansas, did on the 4th day of August, 1955,
enter an order annexing the area in Pulaski County more specifically
described in Section 1 hereof to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas;
and
WHEREAS, more than thirty (30) days have elapsed within
which any interested person could institute proceedings in the Circuit
Court of Pulaski County, Arkansas, to prevent said annexation, and
there have appeared no protestants to this annexation; and
WHEREAS, said area as hereinafter specifically described is
contiguous to and adjoins the City of Little Rock on the North and
West boundary of said City, and as all proceedings for the annexa-
tion of said area have been conducted as required by law;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the following described territory in
Pulaski County, Arkansas, to -wit:
Beginning at the Southeast corner of Section 360 Township
2 North, Range 13 West, said Southeast corner being on
the existing city limits line of the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas, and located at the intersection of the center
line of Hayes Street with the South right -of -way line of
Lee Avenue; thence West along the South line of Section
.... 36, Township 2 North, Range 13 West to the Southwest
corner of the SE4 of the SE4 of said Section 36, said
line being on the existing city limits line; thence North
along the West line of the E2 of the SE4 of said Section
36 to a point mhe re the South right -of -gray line of "K"
Street (Evergreen Road) intersects said West line, said
line being the existing city limits line; thence Westerly
alon the South right -of -way line of "K" Street (Evergreen
Road to a point on the West line of the SE4 of said
Section 36 mhere the extended right -of -way line of "K"
Street (Evergreen Road) crosses the West line of the SE-1
of said Section 36, said line being the existing city

limits line; thence North along the North -South center-
line of said Section 36 to the Northwest corner of the S2
of the SW4 of the NE-1 of said Section 36, said corner being
the Northwest corner of Pine Manor Addition, and said line
being the existing city limits line; thence East along the
North line of the S2 of the SW4 of the NE4 of said Section
36, to the Northeast corner of the S2 of the SW4 of the NE-41
of said Section 36, said line being the North line of
Pine Manor Addition and the existing city limits line; thence
North along the East line of the N2 of the SW4 of the NE-41
of said Section 36 to the Northeast corner of the SW4 of
the NE-1 of said section 36, which corner is also the South -
east corner of Lot 6, Paschal Heights Addition, said line
being the existing city limits line; thence run in a Westerly
direction along the South line of Paschal Heights Addition
to the Southwest corner of Lot 10, Paschal Heights; thence
run North along the West line of Lot 10, Paschal Heights
Addition 15.5 feet to the Southeast corner of Lot 11,
Paschal Heights Addition; thence run in a Westerly direc-
tion along the South line of Paschal Heights Addition to
the Southwest corner of Lot 20, Paschal Heights Addition,
which point is on the centerline of said Section 36 and on
the existing city limits line; thence North along the North -
South centerline of said Section 36 to the Southeast corner
of Casey's Subdivision of Block 1, Forest Park, said line
being the existing city limits line; thence West to the
Southwest corner of Casey's Subdivision of Block 1, Forest
Park, said line being the existin� city limits line; thence
North to the North line of the NW4 of said Section 36, said
line being the existing city limits line; thence West along
the North line of said Section 36, to a point which is 175
feet North of the North right -of -way line of State Highway
No. 10, said line being the existing city limits line;
thence in a Northwesterly direction along a line in the
S2 of Section 25, Township 2 North, Range 13 West, which
line is 175 feet North of and parallel to the North right -
of -way line of said Highway No. 10 to a point on the West
line of said Section 25, said point being 175 feet North
of the North right-of-way line of said Highway No. 10;
thence West 25 feet to a point on the West right -of -way
line of Mississippi Street (Keithly Drive); thence South
along a line which is 25 feet West of and parallel to the
East line of Section 26, Township 2 North, Range 13 West
and the East line of Section 35, Township 2 North, Range
13 West to the North line of the S2 of the SE-1 of the NE4
of Section 35, Township 2 North, Ran §e 13 West; thence West
5 feet along the North line of the SW of the SE-1 of the NE-1
of said Section 35 to a point which is 30 feet West of the
East line of said Section 35; thence South along a line 30
feet West of and parallel to the East line of Section 35 to
a point 350 feet North of the South line of said Section 35,
said point being 350 feet North of and 30 feet West of the
Southeast corner of said Section 35; thence West along a
line 350 feet North of and parallel to the South line of
said Section 35 to the West line of the SE-1 of the SE of
said Section �5; thence South along the West line of the
SE-1 of the SE-,j7 of said Section 35 to the Southwest corner
of the SE4 of the SE4 of Section 35; thence East along the
North line of Section 2, Township 1 North, Range 13 West
to the Northwest corner of the NE-1 of the NE4 of Section 2,
Township 1 North, Range 13 West; said corner being the
Northwest corner of Wingate; thence South along the West
line of the E2 of the NE-1 of said Section 2 to a point
30 feet South of the Northwest corner of the SE4-j of the
NE-1 of said Section 2; thence East along a line 30 feet

South of and parallel to the North line of the SE-1 of
the NE-1 of said Section 2 to the East line of said

along the West line of Section 1, Township 1 North, Range
13 West to a point; thence East along a line 230 feet
South of and parallel to the North line of the S* of the
NWx' of said Section l to a point on the East line of the
NW4 of said Section 1; thence East along a line 230 feet
South of and parallel to the North line of the S2 of the
NE26 of said Section 1, 300 feet to a point, said point being
300 feet East of and 230 feet South of the Northwest corner
of the S2 of the NE-1 of Section 1; thence South 200 feet
to a point, said point being 300 feet East of and 430 feet
South of the Northwest corner of the S2 of the NE4 of Section
1; thence East 360 feet along a line 430 feet South of and
parallel to the North line of the S2 of the NE-1 of Section
1 to a point, said point being 660 feet East and 430 feet
South of the Northwest corner of the S2 of the NE4 of
Section 1; thence North 200 feet to a point, said point
being 660 feet East of and 230 feet South of the Northwest
corner of the S2 of the NE4 of Section 1; thence East along
a line 230 feet South of and parallel to the North line of
the S2 of the NE-1 of Section 1 to a point on the East line
of the SW4 of the NE-1 of Section 1, thence North to the South
line of Markham Street, thence East along the South line of
Markham Street to the existing city limits of the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas; thence North along the East line of
the NEI of Section 1, Township 1 North, Range 13 West to the
Northeast corner of said Section 1, said Northeast corner of
Section 1 also being the Southeast corner of Section 36,
Township 2 North, Range 13 West and the point of beginning,
be and the same is hereby accepted as annexed to, and is hereby made
a part of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas; that said territory
shall henceforth be assigned and attached to the Fifth Ward of said
City; and that the residents therein shall henceforth have and
enjoy all the rights and privileges of citizens of the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas.
