AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND REQUESTING THE BOARD OF
PUBLIC AFFAIRS TO ENTER INTO NEGOTIATIONS FOR THE
LEASE AND RENTAL OF A BUILDING, KNOWN AS THE LITTLE
ROCK CITY HOSPITAL, OWNED BY THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK
AND NOW OCCUPIED BY THE UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS MEDICAL
SCHOOL, SAID LEASE AND RENTAL TO TAKE EFFECT AT THE
TERMINATION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS MEDICAL
SCHOOL'S LEASE ON SAID HOSPITAL, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, property, known as the Little Rock City Hospital,
owned by the City of Little Rock and now occupied by the University
of Arkansas Medical School under lease, may be vacated in the near
future by said Medical School, thus terminating its lease thereon;
and
WHEREAS, it is desirous that the City of Little Rock has in
view a prospective tenant or tenants for the occupation, rental
or use of said building.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LIT'T'LE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the Board of Public Affairs is hereby au-
thorized and requested to enter into negotiations for the lease
and rental of a building, known as the Little Rock City Hospital,
owned by the City of Little Rock and now occupied by the University
of Arkansas Medical School.
SECTION 2. That said lease and rental shall take effect at
the termination of the University of Arkansas Medical School's
lease on said hospital.
SECTION 3. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed, and this ordinance shall
be in full force and effect from and after its passage and ap-
proval.
