ORDINANCE NO. 10,293
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ACCEPTING THE
ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS, OF CERTAIN LANDS LOCATED IN
REQUA'S SUBURBAN PARK RESIDENTIAL ADDI-
TION TO LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, the County Court of Pulaski County, Arkansas
entered its order on July 16, 1956, upon the petition of the sole
real estate owner of the property affected after due notice of
hearing on said petition for the time and in the manner prescribed
by law, ordering the annexation of the following- described lands
located in Pulaski County, Arkansas:
Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Block 1, Requa's Suburban
Park Residential Addition to Little Rock, Arkansas,
and that portion of Hayes Street adjoining the
East boundary of said lots; more particularly
described as beginning at the Northwest Corner
of said Lot 1, thence South along the West boundary
of said Lots to the Southwest corner of said Lot 4,
thence East along the South boundary of said Lot 4
to the Southeast corner of said Lot 4, thence con-
tinuing East to a point where said South boundary of
said Lot 4 extended East intersects the East right -
of -way line of Hayes Street as laid out by Order of
Pulaski County Court dated December 31, 1951 and of
record in Pulaski County Court Record Book 59 at
page 54, thence North along said East right -of -way
line of Hayes Street to a point where said East
right -of -way line of Hayes Street intersects the
North boundary of said Lot 1 extended East, thence
West along said North boundary of said Lot 1 extended
East to the Northeast corner of said Lot 1, thence
continuing West along the North boundary of said Lot
1 to the point of beginning; and
WHEREAS, more than thirty (30) days have elapsed since
the entry of said order of the County Court of Pulaski County,
Arkansas, and no person, firm or corporation has instituted any
proceeding in the Circuit Court of Pulaski County, Arkansas, or
elsewhere, to prevent said annexation, and no protestants have
appeared and no notice given to the authorities of the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas of any attempt to vacate, review, set aside
or appeal from the said order of the County Court; and

WHEREAS, said above - described lands are contiguous to
and adjoin the City of Little Rock, Arkansas:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
Section 1. That the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
acting through this City Council, does hereby approve the annex-
ation of, and does hereby accept and make a part of the incorporated
area of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas all of the lands des-
cribed hereinabove in this Ordinance; and that said lands be and
are hereby assigned and attached to the Fourth Ward of said City.
Section 2. It is further ordered that when two copies
of the entire proceedings of the Pulaski County Court concerning
this annexation have been prepared and duly certified by the Pulaski
County Clerk, one copy of said proceedings shall be delivered to
the Little Rock City Clerk for filing and the other copy, together
with a certified copy of this Ordinance, shall be delivered to and
filed with the Secretary of State of the State of Arkansas, pursu-
ant to Arkansas Statutes (19+7) Section 19 -305•
Section 3. That it is hereby ascertained and declared
that it is necessary to immediately bring the lands involved within
the bounds of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, in order that the
valuable improvements thereon may immediately have city fire and
police protection. It is, therefore, declared that an emergency
exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of
the public peace, health and safety shall be in force and take
effect immediately on and after its passage.
