AN ORDINANCE CREATING AN ADDITIONAL POSITION OF SECRETARY IN
THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARK-
ANSAS; ESTABLISHING SALARIES OF CERTAIN EMPLOYEES IN THAT
OFFICE; REPEALING ALL OTHER ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH;
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The position of an additional Secretary in the
office of the City Clerk of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas is hereby
established. The person to fill said position shall be appointed by the
City Clerk and shall perform such duties as may be prescribed by the
City Clerk.
SECTION 2. The salaries of certain employees in the City Clerkts
office are hereby fixed and established on a calendar months, basis as
f ollows :
2 Secretaries $255.00 to $275.00
1 Assistant Secretary 235.00 to 255.00
SECTION 3. The salary range shall be on a schedule as previously
established for other employees and in compliance with Ordinance No. 8663,
except that any person who shall have held the position of Assistant
Secretary for a period of at least five years and may hereinafter be
promoted to the position of Secretary, shall receive the maximum rate of
pay for said position of Secretary.
SECTION 4. The employees covered by the provisions of this
Ordinance shall be paid on a two week pay period basis as provided for
other employees by Ordinance No. 9436, and the amount paid to each for
said two weeks shall be equal to one -half of the monthly salary as
authorized herein.
SECTION 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed and this ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage and approval.
