AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $5,5$8.65 TO PAY MURAL AND
SON, MOVING CONTRACTORS, AS THE BALANCE DUE FOR REMOVING THE
PULASKI COUNTY JAIL FROM THE RIGHT -OF -WAY OF THE RIVERFRONT DRIVE
TO ITS NEW LOCATION IN BLOCK 186, ORIGINAL CITY OF LITTLE ROCK;
SAID SUM TO BE PAID FROM THE HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION FUND; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the Board of Public Affairs of the City of Little Rock
entered into an agreement with the County Judge as authorized by Ordinance
No. 9880 for the removal of the County jail from the right -of -way of the
Riverfront Drive to its new location in Block 186, Original City of Little
Rock, and
WHEREAS, said agreement provided for deposit in escrow in The
First National Bank, Little Rock, Arkansas, a sum of money deemed necessary
for the removing of the jail to the new location, and
WHEREAS, the deposit in escrow in The First National Bank was
$221,500.00 and the agreement with the County Judge, Pulaski County, Ark-
ansas, provided for a deposit in escrow not to exceed the sum of $358,289.50,
and
WHEREAS, the period of time required for moving the jail was longer
than anticipated, and resulted in additional costs necessary for providing
utilities, thereby exceeding the sum of money which had been deposited in
escrow in The First National Bank, Little Rock,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

SECTION 1. That the sum of Five Thousand Five Hundreds -Eight
Dollars and Sixty -five Cents ($5,5$8.65) is hereby appropriated to pay
Mural and Son, moving contractors, as the balance due for removing the
Pulaski County Jail from the right -of -way of the Riverfront Drive to its
new location in Block 186, Original City of Little Rock, Arkansas.
SECTION 2. That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
and directed to issue the City's Warrant in the sum of $5,588.65 to Mural
and Son, moving contractors, which sum shall be paid from the Highway Con-
struction Fund.
SECTION 3. That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in con-
flirt herewith are hereby repealed and this Ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
