AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ACCEPTING THE
ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
THE EAST HALF OF BLOCK 3, HAMILTON & BRACK'S
ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS.
WHEREAS, the County Court of Pulaski County, Arkansas entered
its order on December 10, 1956 upon the petition of the majority of
the real estate owners of the property affected after due notice of
hearing on said petition for the time and in the manner prescribed
by law, ordering the annexation of the following- •described lands
located in.Pulaski County, Arkansas:
Beginning at a point where the present city limits boundary
near center line of West 28th Street (now known as Archwood Drive)
in the City of Little Rock, intersects the present city limits line
of Virginia Street (now known as Alameda Drive) thence run South to
intersection of Center line of West 29th Street; thence run in a
northwesterly direction to southeast corner of Block 3 of Hamilton
and-Brack's Addition in the City of Little Rock; thence west along
north right of way line of 29th Street in the City of Little Rock,
a distance of 161 feet, more or less, to the west line of the platted
alley; thence run North to present city limits line near the center
line of West 28th Street (now known as Archwood Drive) and run thence
East on the present city limits line near the center line of the
West 28th Street to the point of beginning, comprising the East Half
of Block 3 in HAMILTON & BRACK'S ADDITION to the City of Little Rock,
as shown by Plat thereof recorded in Plat Book 1, at page 175, of the
Records of Pulaski County, Arkansas, and
WHEREAS, more than thirty (30) days have elapsed since the
entry of said order of the County Court of Pulaski County, Arkansas,
and no person, firm or corporation has instituted any proceeding in
the Circuit Court of Pulaski County, Arkansas, or elsewhere, to
prevent said annexation, and no protestants have appeared and no
notice given to the authorities of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas
of any attempt to vacate, review, set aside or appeal from the said
order of the County Court; and
WHEREAS, said above - described lands are contiguous to and adjoin
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:

SECTION 1. That the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, acting
through this City Council, does hereby approve the annexation of,
and does hereby accept and make a part of the incorporated area of
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas all of the lands described herein -
above in this Ordinance; and that said lands be and are hereby
assigned and attached to the Fourth Ward of said City.
SECTION 2. It is further ordered that when two copies of the
entire proceedings of the Pulaski. County Court concerning this
annexation have been prepared and duly certified by the Pulaski
County Clerk, one copy of said proceedings shall be delivered to the
Little Rock City Clerk for filing and the other copy, together with
a certified copy of this Ordinance, shall be delivered to and filed
with the Secretary of State of the State of Arkansas, pursuant to
Arkansas Statutes (1947) Section 19 -305.
SECTION 3. That it is hereby ascertained and declared that it
is necessary to immediately bring the lands involved within the
bounds of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, in order that the
valuable improvements thereon may immediately have city fire and
police protection. It is, therefore, declared that an emergency
exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the
public peace, health and safety shall be in force and take effect
immediately on and after its passage.
