AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF ONE
HUNDRED AND SEVENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS AS A CASH
GRANT -IN -AID TO THE HOUSING.AUTHORITY OF THE
CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, IN CONNECTION
WITH ACQUISITION, CLEARANCE AND URBAN RENEWAL
AND REHABILITATION OF THAT SLUM, BLIGHTED AND
DETERIORATING AREA IN THE.CITY OF LITTLE ROCK
DESCRIBED IN THE URBAN RENEWAL PLAN FOR THE
LIVESTOCK SHOW AREA, PROJECT ARK,R -2; DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DOCTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the sum of One Hundred and Seventy
Thousand Dollars be and hereby is appropriated out of the
General Fund of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, payable to
the Housing Authority of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
as said City's cash grant -in -aid in connection with the
acquisition, clearance and urban renewal and rehabilitation
of that slum, blighted and deteriorating area in said City
described in the Livestock Show Area Urban Renewal Plan,
Project ARK R -2, as approved by Ordinance No. 10,649 adopted
by the governing body of said City of the 14th day of October,
1957•
SECTION 2. That the fiscal officers of the City of
Little Rock be and hereby are authorized and directed to do
all things necessary and appropriate to cause said sum of One
Hundred and Seventy Thousand Dollars to be paid out of said
City's General Fund to the order of said Housing Authority of
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas.
SECTION 3. It is hereby found and declared to be a
fact that consummation of the Livestock Show Area slum
clearance and urban renewal and rehabilitation project is
immediately necessary for the preservation of the public
health, welfare, morals and peace. An emergency is there-
fore declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect
