ORDINANCE NO. 10,731
b AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE DISTRIBUTION AND SALE OF
NATURAL GAS TO DOMESTIC AND COMMERCIAL CONSUMERS
WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS TO BE A
PRIVILEGE; FIXING THE LICENSE THEREFOR; AMENDING ALL
CONFLICTING ORDINANCES OR PARTS THEREOF; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The business of distribution and sale of natural
gas to domestic and /or commercial consumers within the City of
Little Rock, Arkansas is declared to be a privilege; and all per-
sons, firms and /or corporations so engaged shall pay for said
privilege, the annual license tax set forth and fixed in Section
2 hereof.
SECTION 2. There is hereby levied as an annual license tax
for said privilege the sum of $75,000.00, which shall be due and
payable in equal quarterly installments on the first days of
January, April, July and October of each of the years, 1958, 1959,
19602 19612 19622 19632 19642 19659 1966, 19672 1968 and 1969.
The said tax shall be in lieu of all other licenses, taxes or im-
positions (other than the usual general or special ad valorem
taxes) which might be imposed by the City of Little Rock under
authority conferred by law.
SECTION 3. Any person, firm and /or corporation engaging in
the business hereinabove specified without paying the quarterly
installments of said tax within thirty (30) days after written
notice by the City Collector that they axmmrespectively due shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, onviction thereof,
shall be fined in any sum not less than $250.00 nor more than
$500.00; and each day that such default continues shall constitute
a separate offense.
SECTION 4. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith, including Ordinances Numbers 5751, 7159, 7451 and 9014,
are hereby amended to conform to the provisions of this ordinance.

SECTION 5. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.
