13580RESOLUTION NO. 13,580 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH GLMV ARCHITECTURE TO PROVIDE AN 5 UPDATED MASTER PLAN FOR THE LITTLE ROCK ZOO WITH 6 REVIEWS OF THE ZOO'S STRATEGIC BUSINESS PLAN AND 7 EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 33 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Zoo's leadership has determined that an updated master plan for the Zoo is needed, along with a review of the existing strategic business plan and the existing education programs, and WHEREAS, a Request for Qualifications was issued for the assessment of Zoo facilities so that the Zoo can offer innovative, interactive and fun educational, horticultural, recreational and conservation ac- tivities that complement the existing resources of War Memorial Park in accord with an updated master plan for the Zoo's next ten (10) years, and WHEREAS, of the responses received, a selection committee selected GLMV Architecture as the most qualified firm to accomplish the needed professional services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby awards a contract to GLMV Architecture to provide an up- dated master plan for the Zoo and reviews of the existing strategic business plan and education programs for a total contract amount not to exceed Seventy-Seven Thousand, Five Hundred Dollars ($77,500), and authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, for such services. Section 2. The funds for the contract are to come from 607101-63211. Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adju- dication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution, which shall remain in full force and ef- fect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the resolution. Section 4. Repealer. All ordinances, resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this res- olution are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
