AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF FIFTY -FOUR THOUSAND
AND N01100 DOLLARS ($54,000) PAYABLE TO THE UNIVERSITY
OF ARKANSAS MEDICAL CENTER IN FULL SATISFACTION OF ANY
AND ALL CLAIMS AND DEMANDS FOR SERVICES RENDERED IN THE
FORM OF HOSPITALIZATION AND /OR MEDICAL TREATMENT OF
INDIGENT CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS,
THROUGH AND INCLUDING DECEMBER 31, 1958; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the University of Arkansas Medical Center has
rendered and will continue to render through December-31, 1958,
services to indigent citizens of the City of Little Rock in the
form of hospitalization and /or medical treatment; and
WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is desirous of discharging
its goverrnnental responsibility to aid the indigent citizens
of said City in securing proper medical treatment and /or hos-
pitalization; and
WHEREAS, said City has determined that said Medical Center
should be compensated for its services rendered and to be
rendered;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated the sum of Fifty-
Four Thousand and No /100 Dollars ($54,000) payable to the Univer-
sity of Arkansas Medical Center in full satisfaction of any and
all claims and demands for services rendered in the form of
hospitalization and /or medical treatment of indigent citizens
of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, through dnd including
December 31, 1958.
SECTION 2. The City Manager and Director of Finance are
hereby authorized and directed to issue the necessary warrant
or warrants in payment of the amount hereinabove appropriated.
SECTION 3.. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in con-
flict herewith are hereby repealed and this ordinance shall be
