AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE HAULING OF TRASH, GARBAGE,
AND RUBBISH IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK; DESCRIBING THE
TYPE OF VEHICLES TO BE USED THEREFOR; FIXING A PRIVILEGE
LICENSE AND INSPECTION FEE THEREFOR; PROVIDING FOR A
PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF; REPEALING ORDINANCE
NO. 8190; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That from and after the passage and approval of

� this ordinance, no person, firm or corporation shall haul any
4 garbage, trash or rubbish within the City of Little Rock, until

>11 they have secured a written permit from the Sanitation Depart -

'o meet showing that each vehicle used in the hauling of garbage,

atrash or rubbish has passed inspection.
SECTION 2. (A) Vehicles used in hauling trash or rubbish
shall have beds of tight construction to prevent the contents
from 'sifting or falling from the vehicle, and must have a
canvas cover over said vehicle at all times except when loading
and unloading.
(B) Vehicles used in the hauling of garbage
must either have a bed constructed of metal and be leak proof
or have metal containers with tight fitting lids. Trucks are
required to be covered with metal or tarpaulin at all times ex-
cept when loading.
SECTION 3. An annual Privilege License of $12.50 per annum
is hereby levied for each vehicle used in the hauling of garbage,
trash or rubbish. This also includes the cost of the inspection
of each truck operated on the streets of the City of Little
Rock for the above purpose. All vehicles licensed under the
provisions of this ordinance shall be inspected annually by the
Sanitation Department or more often when the Sanitation Depart-
ment deems necessary.

SECTION 4. Any person, firm, or corporation violating
the provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof in the Little Rock
Municipal Court shall be fined in any sum not less than $10.00
nor more than $100.00.
SECTION 5. Ordinance No. 8190 and all other ordinances
and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby re-
pealed, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.
