AN ORDINANCE
ACCEPTING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY
TO THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. It is hereby recognized that a majority of the
real estate owners of a tract of land contiguous and adjoining the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas, duly petitioned the County Court of
Pulaski County, Arkansas, that their property be annexed to the
City of Little Rock; and that after publication of notice of the
hearing on said petition and other formalities required by the
Statutes of Arkansas, a hearing was held and the County Court of
Pulaski County made a finding that all requirements for annexation
had been met and on August 13, 1959, entered an order annexing to
the City of Little Rock the lands described in this Ordinance; and
that no proceeding was instituted in the Circuit Court of Pulaski
County to prevent the annexation within thirty days from the date
of the order of the County Court of Pulaski County.
SECTION 2. The City of Little Rock, Arkansas, pursuant to
the Statutes of Arkansas, does hereby accept the said annexation
and the following described lands are hereby annexed to the City of
Little Rock:
Two tracts in the SEt of the NEI of Section
1, Township 1 North, Range 13 West, more
particularly described as follows:
Tract 1
Begin at a point 84 feet South of the North-
east corner of said SE4 of the NEB, said
point being on the center line of Hayes
Street and the present boundary line of
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas; run
thence South 10 33' East along the center
line of Hayes Street a distance of 246 feet;
run thence West a distance of 360 feet; run
thence North 10 33' West, a distance of
246 feet; run thence East a distance of 360
feet to the point of beginning;
and
Tract 2
Begin at the Northeast corner of said SE-w
of the NEI, this point being on the center
line of Hayes Street and on the present
boundary line of the City of Little Rock;
run thence South 10 33' East along the
center line of Hayes Street a distance of

84 feet; run thence West 35 feet; run thence
North 4.9 feet; run thence in a Northwest -
wardly direction on a curve (35 foot radius)
50.9 feet; run thence in a Northwestwardly
direction 170.1 feet to a point that is 30
feet South and 235 feet West of the North-
east corner of said SEk of the NE -W; ruin
thence West 120 feet; run thence South 54
feet; run thence West 5 feet; run thence
North 84 feet; run thence East 360 feet to
the point of beginning; exeepting therefrom
so much of Markham Street as was annexed to
the City of Little Rock under Order of An-
nexation dated August 5, 1955, and recorded
in Book 60, Page 456, of the Records of
Pulaski County, Arkansas.
SECTION 3. It appearing that the residents in the area
hereby annexed are suffering serious hardship and inconvenience
because they are deprived of the services provided by the City of
Little Rock, in order to preserve the peace, health and safety of
the people of the City of Little Rock, an emergency is hereby de-
clared and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage.
