That certain
real property
hereinafter
described and which
is located in Pulaski County, Arkansas, and is adjacent and contiguous to
the north, west and south boundaries of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
and which lies in Sections 19, 209 29 and 30, Township 2 North, Range 12
West* Sections 22, 230 242 260 279 33, 34 aild 35; Township 2 North, Range
13 West; Sections 1, 2, 3, 4s 100 11, 12, 13,; 14o 15, 220 23, 24, 25, 35s
and 36, Township 1 North, Range 13 West, Sections 6, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20,
28, 299 30, 31, and 32, Township 1 North, Range 12 West; Sections 1 and 2.

Range 12 West, containing 22.2 square miles more or less, has been improved
by the erection and occupancy of various residences, business0 Industrial,
and other type structures, and said territory should be annexed to the
present City of Little Rock for the best interests of said territory and
the best interest of Little Rock and so that it may be properly protected
from the standpoint of peace, health, fire and safety hazards. That said
territory is more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the City limits line on the north
with the southwest margin of the Arkansas River, which point lies in
Section 29, T -2 -N. R -12-W; thence easterly along said City limits line
extended to the center line of the Arkansas River; thence northwesterly
and westerly along the center line of the Arkansas River to its inter-
section with the center line of Little Maumelle as extended easterly;
thence westerly along the center line of Little Maumelle Creek to the
West line of the E* W*, Section 22, T -2 -N,, R -13 -W; thence southerly along
the West line of the E* W* Section.228 and 27, to the NE corner of the NWJ
NVJ Section 34s T -2 -N, R -13 -W; thence westerly along the north line of

22.2 square miles more or lessy save and except the following described

be annexed;
Be inning at a point on the Northeast Corner of the NW4 of the
SW, Section 18, Township 1 North, Range 12 West, Pulaski County,
Arkansas; thence run North 89 degrees 1 minutes West, 168.5
feet; thence North 89 degrees 51 minutes West, 1200.7 feet to
a point bordering on the University Avenue right -of -way; thence
SoutY along the University Avenue right -of -way 405 feet to the
point of beginning; thence East 75 feet; thence South 60 feet;
thence West 75 feet; thence North 60 feet to the point of
beginning; and
A tract of land in the NW4, Section 29, T -1 N, R -12-W, Pulaski
County, Arkansas, more particularly described as: Starting at
the southwest corner of the NVJ of said Section 29; thence N.00
081 E along the west line of said Section 29, 80.0 feet to a point
on -the north right -of -way line of West 65th Street; thence S. 890
18t E along said north right -of -way line, a distance of 1,618.6
feet to the point of beginning of the tract herein described; thence
N.00 08t E. 150.0 feet to a point; thence S.890 18t E. 180.4 feet
to a point; thence S. 10 021 W. 150.0 feet to a_point on the north
right -of -way line of West 65th Street; thence N. 890 181 W. along
said north right -of -way line a distance of 178 feet to the point
of beginning, containing 269880 square feet; and
Part of the SE4 of the NE' of Section 1, Township 1 North, Range
13 West (hereinafter referred to as said 40 -acre tract), more
particularly described as follows, to -wit: Begin at the northeast
corner of the said 40 -acre tract and run thence West along the
North line thereof a distance of 35 feet to a point; thence run
South along a line parallel with the East line of said 40 -acre
tract a distance of 380 feet to a point, which ire tree pulA t of
beginning of the parcel of land herein described; thence from said
point of beginning run West along a line parallel with the North
line of said 40 -acre tract a distance of 120 feet to a point; thence
run South along a line parallel with the East line of said 40 -acre
tract a distance of 100 feet to a point; thence run East along a
line parallel with the North line of said 40 -acre tract a distance
of 120 feet to a point, which point is 35 feet West of the East
line of said 40 -acre tract; thence run North along a line parallel
with the East line of said 40 -acre tract a distance of 100 feet
to said point of beginning.
SECTION 2. That the question of the annexation. of the above described
property shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the City of Little
Rock at the next general election, which will be held November 3, 1959.
SECTION 3. That in the event that a majority of the qualified electors
at the election mentioned in Section 2 of this Ordinance approve of said
annexation to the City of Little Rock of the territory herein. described
in Section. 1 of this Ordinance, the City Manager is directed to take any
and all appropriate steps necessary and desirable to complete the annexa-
tion of said lands and territory, or any part thereof, to the City of
Little Rock, in conformity with the provisions of Arkansas Law.
SECTION 4. That the establishment of regular boundaries to the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas, and the bringing into the City of Little Rock
of the above - described improved territory now lying beyond the North,

West and South boundaries of the City Limits is hereby found to be vital
to the public peace, health and safety and an emergency is hereby
declared to exist; and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.

miles by Court Order Dec. 19, 1961.
