11040ORDINANCE NO. 11,040 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 10,908, SAME BEING: "AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING OPERATORS OF STATIONARY BOILERS AND /OR REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS TO BE LICENSED; CREATING A BOARD OF EXAMINERS TO EXAMINE APPLICANTS FOR SUCH LICENSE; FIXING THE LICENSE FEE THEREFOR; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES." BY PROVIDING TERMS OF OFFICE FOR SUCCESSORS TO THE BOARD OF EXAMINERS CREATED THEREIN; REAPPOINTING CECIL MOSELEY TO THE BOARD OF EXAMINERS FOR STATIONARY BOILERS AND R8- FRIGERATION SYSTEMS; DECLARING AN.EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. ai c BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE w ROCK, ARKANSAS: 0 zi SECTION 1. Section 2 of Ordinance No. 10,908 is hereby w amended to read as follows: x "SECTION 2. The Board of Directors shall within thirty ,° (30) days after the passage of this ordinance appoint a ra Board of Examiners, which shall consist of three members, M one of whom shall be an engineer, or a person who shall have had at least tea years experience in the operation and /or omaintenance of steam boilers; and one member who shall have had at least five years experience in the operation and /or maintenance of refrigeration systems. Within thirty (30) days after the appointment, the members of said Board of Examiners shall meet and organize by the election of a Chair- man and Secretary. The Chairman shall serve for a term of three years; the Secretary shall serve for a term of two years; and the third member of said Board shall serve for a term of one year. Thereafter, such persons as are appointed or reappointed to the said Board of Examiners, shall serve for a term of three (3) years. "' SECTION 2, Cecil Moseley, whose term expires March 16, 1960, is hereby reappointed to the Board of Examiners for Stationary Boilers and Refrigeration Systems, effective March 17, 1960, for a tbree (3) year term ending March 16, 1963. too °/.5 0-/'o 2- SECTION 3. Whereas, the Board of Examiners, for the proper conduct of its business and affairs, needs a full complement of membership; and whereas, failure to have a full complement of membership will work extreme hardship on the proper performance of the duties of the Board of Examiners; now therefore, an emer- gency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance being neces- sary for the preservation of public peace, health and safety shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval; and all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed* PASSED: March 7, 1960 .ATTEST: / �j �f ce �e-��/ City Clerk APPROVED: If.. zo Mayor
