11069ORDINANCE NO. 11,069 AN ORDINANCE DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO BRING CONDEMNATION PROCEEDINGS AGAINST CERTAIN PARCELS OF REAL PROPERTY FRONTING ON �CANTRELL ROAD IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK TO BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF WIDENING AND PAVING SAID CANTRELL ROAD; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: SECTION 1. The City Attorney is hereby ordered and directed to file in the proper courts proceedings for the condemnation of the following described parcels of real property situated in said City of Little Rock, Arkansas: 1. South 5 feet of Lot 27 and South .5 feet of East 20 feet of Lot 28, Normandy Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. Said property is owned by Mr. Manie Schuman. 2. Beginning at the point of the intersection of the North right -of -way line of Cantrell Road and the West right -of -way line of University Avenue; thence North 17 feet along said West right -of -way line of University Avenue; thence Southwesterly to a point which is .5 feet North of said North right-of-way line of said Cantrell Road and 10 feet West of the said West right -of -way line of University Avenue; thence West to a point on the West line of Lot 1, Normandy Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas; thence South ,5 feet to a point on the said North right -of -way line of Cantrell Road; thence East to the point of beginning, and containing 85 sq. ft. more or less, and the South .5 feet of the E2 of Lot 2, Normandy Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. Said property is owned by 0. D. Hadfield, Jr. and Louise S. Hadfield, his wife. 3. South 22 feet of East 29.5 feet and South 29 feet of West 65 feet of all that part of Block 21, Worthen's Subdivision, which lies North of Lincoln Avenue (Cantrell Road).- Said property is owned by Missouri Pacific Railroad Co. 4. South 4.25 feet of Lot 15, Block 2, McGehee's Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. Said property is owned by Beverly Best Remmel. 5. The extreme northern part of Lot 6, Pine View Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, being 4.2 feet at the east end and 10 feet at the West end and containing 1,21.5 square feet. Said property is owned by Floy R. Harris. 6. South 5 feet of Lots 25 and 26 and South 5 feet of West 40 feet of Lot 24, Normandy Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. Said property is owned by Mrs. Ruth May Wassell Gibb. 7. North 5 feet of Lot 71 and North 5 feet of East Half (E2) of Lot 70 and North ,5 feet of Nest Half (Wj) of Lot 72, Normandy Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. Said property is owned by Virginia F. Williamson and Charles Henry Williamson. 8. North .5 feet of Lot 62 and North .5 feet of East Half (E) of Lot 61, Normandy Addition to the City of Little Rock. Said property is owned by F. Lamar Massie, Jr., and Beulah Lee Massie, his wife. 9. North 5 feet of Lot 68 and North 5 feet of East Half (E2) of Lot 67, Normandy Addition to the City of Little Rock. Said property is owned by Carroll W. Stegall, Jr., and Esther E. Stegall, his wife. 10. South 5 feet of Lots 21 and 22, Normandy Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. Said property is owned by Ed F. McFaddin and Tillie M. McFaddin, his wife. The properties hereinabove described are necessary to be utilized for the purpose of widening Cantrell Road in the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. tbG -& C -// 4, -2- SECTION 2. The City Attorney is further directed to secure an Order of the Court allowing the City to take immediate possession of the properties described hereinabove upon its posting a bond in an amount to be determined by the Court. The City Attorney is authorized to have posted on behalf of the City a bond in the amount determined by the Court pending final determination of the condemnation proceedings. SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. It has been found and determined that the safety of the citizens of the City of Little Rock are jeopardized by reason of the narrow width of Cantrell Road and that the condemnation of these parcels of real property will enable the widening of said Cantrell Road so as to reduce said traffic hazard; now therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of public peace, health and safety shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval. rAssEID: May 2, 1960 ATTEST: City Clerk APPROVED: May
