AN ORDINANCE DIRECTING THE CITY ATTORNEY TO BRING CONDEM-
NATION PROCEEDINGS AGAINST CERTAIN PARCELS OF REAL PROPERTY
FRONTING ON UNIVERSITY AVENUE IN THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK
TO BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF WIDENING AND PAVING SAID
UNIVERSITY AVENUE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The City Attorney is hereby ordered and directed
to file in the proper courts proceedings for the condemnation of
the following described parcels of real property situated in said
City of Little Rock, Arkansas:
The West 20.0 feet of the East 40.0 feet of the North 2.0
acres of the S2, NEW, NE4, NEW, Section 1 T 1 N, R 13 W;
And the East 20 feet of the following described property;
That part of the E2, N2, NET'., NEW, NE4, Section 1, T 1 N,
R 13 W, described as commencing at the northeast corner of
the said NE4; thence run South along the East line of
Section 1 a distance of 184.87 feet to a point; thence West
20 feet to the West line of University Avenue for the point
of beginning; thence South 144.9 feet along the West line of
University Avenue to a point; thence West 640.66 feet to a
point; thence North 164.9 feet to a point; thence East 495.66
feet to a point; thence South 20 feet to a point; thence East
145 feet to point of beginning. Said property is owned by
Trustees for Woodlawn Baptist Church.
The East 5 feet of Lot 26, Ridgecrest Manor;
And beginning at a point in the North Line of said Lot 26,
said point being 25 feet West of the Northeast corner thereof;
thence East along said North line 20 feet to a point; thence
South parallel to and 5 feet West of the East line of said
Lot 26, 20 feet to a point; thence in a northwesterly dir-
ection along the arc of a 20 foot radius curve to the left
to the point of beginning. Said property is owned by Dee
Hester McCartney, Jr., and his wife, Virginia.
The South 25.0 feet of the East 30.0 feet of the West 40.0
feet; and the West 10.0 feet of the West 129.0 feet of the
S2 of Lot 15, Adams and Plunketts Subdivision of the W2,
NWW, Section 6, T 1 N, R 12 W;
And beginning at a point that is 25.0 feet North and 25.0
feet East of the Southwest corner of said Lot 15; thence
West parallel to and 25.0 feet North of the South line of
said Lot 15, 15 feet to a point; thence North parallel to
and 10.0 feet East of the West line of said Lot 15, 15.0
feet to a point; thence in a southeasterly direction along
the are of a 15 foot radius curve to the left to the point
of beginning. Said property is owned by Alfred M. Sullivan
and Dorothy Hayes Sullivan.

The West 10.0 feet of the following described property: Part
of Lot 15, Adams and Plunketts Subdivision of the Wes, NW4,
Section 6, T 1 N, R 12 W; beginning at the Northwest corner of
said Lot 15; thence East on line between Lots 15 and 16 for 270
feet 8 inches; thence South 70 feet; thence West 270 feet 8
inches; thence North 70 feet to point of beginning.
The West 10 feet of the following described property: Part of
Lot 15, Adams and Plunketts Subdivision of the W -1, NW-1 Section
61 T 1 N, R 12 W; beginning at the Northwest corner of said Lot 1.5.
thence South 70 feet for point of beginning; thence East 270
feet 8 inches' thence South 80 feet; thence West 270 feet 8 inches;
thence North h feet to point of beginning. Said property is
owned by A. M. Sullivan and Louise R. Sullivan.
The East 10 feet of the South 48 feet of the East Half of Block 11
Pleasant Hill Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. Said
property is owned by Mark Weedman, Estate of Gus Falk and Irene
Pittard.
The West ,5 feet of Lots 1, 2, 3, and 4, Block 9, Lincoln Park
Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. Said property
is owned by Mark Weedman.
The East 10 feet of the North 48 feet of the South 96 feet of
the East Half of Block 1, Pleasant Hill Addition to the City
of Little Rock, Arkansas. Said property is owned by Joseph
Kaufman.
The West 5.0 feet of Lot 6, Block 2,5, Mountain Park Addition to
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. Said property is owned by
E. W. Turner and Rafalia W. Turner, his wife.
The Nest 5.0 feet of Lot 7, Block 2.5, Mountain Park Addition to
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. Said property is owned by
John Edward Brunzo and Mary Alice Brunzo, his wife.
The East 5.0 feet of the South Half of Lot 12, Block 14, of
Springdale Addition to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas. Said
property is owned by William C. Kimmons and -Mary R. Kimmons, his
wife.
The properties hereinabove described are necessary to be utilized for
the purpose of widening University Avenue in the City of Little Rock,
Arkansas.
SECTION 2. The City Attorney is further directed to secure an Order
of the Court allowing the City to take immediate possession of the
properties described hereinabove upon its posting a bond in an amount to
be determined by the Court. The City Attorney is authorized to have
posted on behalf of the City a bond in the amount determined by the Court
pending final determination of the condemnation proceedings.
SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. It has been found and determined that the safety of the
citizens of the City of Little Rock is jeopardized by reason of the narrow

width of University Avenue and that the condemnation of these parcels of
real property will enable the widening of said University Avenue so as
to reduce said traffic hazard; now therefore, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist, and this ordinance being necessary for the preser-
vation of public peace, health and safety shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval.
