AN ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ACCEPTING PART OF THE NORTH HALF
OF THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF THE
NORTHEAST QUARTER (NJ NW4 SE4 NE4) OF SECTION ONE (1), TOWN-
SHIP ONE (1) NORTH, RANGE THIRTEEN (13) WEST, MORE PARTICU-
LARLY DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: BEGINNING AT A POINT 30 FEET
SOUTH OF THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF SAID NWa SE4 NFJ; RUNNING
THENCE EAST 224 FEET ALONG THE SOUTH BOUNDARY OF WEST MARK -
HAM STREET TO A POINT; THENCE SOUTH 300 FEET; THENCE WEST
224 FEET; THENCE NORTH 300 FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING.
WHEREAS, the County Court of Pulaski County, Arkansas entered its
order on March 9, 1960, upon the petition of the sole owner of the prop-
erty affected, after due notice of hearing on said petition for the time
and in the manner prescribed by law, ordering the annexation of the fol-
lowing lands located in Pulaski County, Arkansas:
Part of the North Half of the Northwest Quarter of the South-
east Quarter of the Northeast Quarter (NJ NW4 SE4 NA) of
Section One (1), Township One (1) North, Range Thirteen (13)
West, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at
4oint 30 feet South of the Northwest corner of said NW4 SE4
; running thence East 224 feet along the South boundary of
West Markham Street to a point; thence South 300 feet; thence
West 224 feet; thence North 300 feet to the point of beginning;
and,
, more than thirty (30) days have elapsed since the entry of
said order of the County Court of Pulaski County, Arkansas, and no person,
firm or corporation has instituted any proceedings in the Circuit Court of
Pulaski County, Arkansas, or elsewhere, to prevent said annexation, and
no protestants have appeared and no notice given to the authorities of
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, of any attempt to vacate, review, set
aside or appeal from the said order of the County Court; and,
WHEREAS, said above described lands are contiguous to and adjoin the
City of Little Rock, Arkansas;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, acting through its
Board of Directors, does hereby approve the annexation of, and does hereby

accept and wake a part of the incorporated area of the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas all of the lands described hereinabove in this Ordinance;
and that said lands be and are hereby assigned and attached to the Fifth
Ward of said City.
SECTION 2. That it is hereby ascertained and declared that it is
necessary to immediately bring the lands involved within the bounds of
the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, in order that the valuable improve-
ments thereon may immediately have City fire and police protection. It
is, therefore, declared that an emergency exists and this Ordinance be-
ing necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety
shall be in force and take effect immediately on and after its passage.
