ORDINANCE APPROVING AND ACCEPTING THE ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, OF CERTAIN LANDS LOCATED IN PULASKI COUNTY,
ARKANSAS, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: BEGINNING AT A POINT 13.25 CHAINS
SOUTH OF THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF THE E2, NW'k NEB, SECTION 2, TOWN-
SHIP 1 NORTH, RANGE 13 WEST; THENCE SOUTH TO THE NORTH RIGHT OF WAY
LINE OF WEST MARKHAM STREET; THENCE WEST ALONG THE NORTH RIGHT OF
WAY LINE OF WEST MARKHAM STREET TO THE N -S CENTERLINE OF SECTION 2,
TOWNSHIP 1 NORTH, RANGE 13 WEST; THENCE SOUTH ALONG THE N -S CENTER-
LINE OF SECTION 2, TOWNSHIP 1 NORTH, RANGE 13 WEST TO A POINT 25

WHEREAS, the County Court of : Pulaski County, Arkansas, entered
its order on 16th day of August, 1960, upon the petition of Jerry D.
Brown, James N. Jeffries and Fred Schneider, persons designated and
authorized to act in behalf of petitioners, effected after due notice
of hearing on said petition for the time and in the manner prescribed
by law, ordering the annexation of the following described lands
located in Pulaski County, Arkansas.
Beginning at a point 13.25 chains South of the Northwest
corner of the E 1/2, NW 1/4 NE 1/4, Section 2, Township 1

North, Range 13 West; thence South to the North right -of
way line of West Markham Street; thence West along the North
right -of -way line of West Markham Street to the N -S center-
line of Section 2, Township 1 North, Range 13 West; thence
South along the N -S centerline of Section 2, Township 1
North, Range 13 West, to a point 25 feet North of South
line of the NE, 1/4 of Section 2, Township 1 North, Range
13 West, said point lying on the North right -of -way line
of West 5th Street; thence East along the North right -of-
way line of West 5th Street, said right -of -way being 25
feet North of and parallel to the South line of the NE 1/4
of Section 2, Township 1 North, Range 13 Jest, to the West
line of SE 1/4 NE 1/4 Section 2, Township 1 North, Range 13
West; thence North along the West line SE 1/4 NE. 1/4 829.8
feet to a point, which point lies on the North line of Lot
48, Markham Manor Subdivision; thence South 88 degrees 19
minutes East along the North lines of Lots 48, 492 50, and
51, Markham Manor Subdivision, 460 feet to the West line of
Lot 67 of said Markham Manor Subdivision; thence North 2
degrees 02 minutes Last along the Test lines of Lots 67
through 72 inclusive 510 feet to the South right -of -way line of
West Markham Street; thence westerly along the South right -
of -way line of West Markham Street to the West line of the
SE 1/4 NE. 1/4 of Section 2, Township 1 Norths Range 13 West;
thence North along the West line of the SE 1/4 NE 1/4 and
the West line of the NE 1/4 NE 1/4 of Section 2, Township 1
North, Range 13 West, to a point, said point being 100 feet
South of the North line of Section 2, Township 1 North, Range
13 West; thence West on a line 100 feet South of and parallel
to the North line of Section 2, Township 1 North, Range 13
West, to a point 100 feet South and 100 feet East of the NW
corner of the E, 1/2 E 1/2 NW 1/4 NE 1/4, Section 2, Township
1 North, Range 13 West; thence South on a line 100 feet East

of and parallel to the West line of the E 1/2 E 1/2 NO 1/4
NZ 1/4 Section 2, Township 1 North, range 13 'nest, to a
point 1,120 feet South of and 100 feet East of the IVW
corner of the E 1/2 `L 1/2 NW 1/4 NE. 1/4 of Section 2, Town-
ship 1 North, Range 13 West; thence West along a line 1,120
feet South of and parallel to the North line of Section 2,
Township 1 North, aange 13 West, 100 feet to the West line
of the E 1/2 1/2 Nd 1/4 NE 1/4, Section 2, Township 1
North, Range 13 West; thence North along said West line to
a point 13.09 chains South of the North line of Section
2, Township 1 North, hange 13 west; thence 'West 4.95 chains
to the point of beginning.
WHERZhS, more than thirty (30) days has elapsed since the
entering of said order in the Pulaski County Court and no person, firm
or corporation has instituted any proceedings in the Circuit Court
of Pulaski County to prevent such annexation and no protestants have
appealed and no notice given to the City of Little Rock, Arkansas,
of any attempt to vacate, refuse, set aside or appeal from the said
order of the County Court.
WHEREAS, said above described lands are contiguous to and adjoin
the City of Little mock, Arkansas.

THE CITY OF LITTLE. LIOCK. ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. That the City of Little Rock, through its Board of
Directors, does hereby approve the annexation of, and does hereby
accept and make a part of the incorporation of the City of Little
Rock, Arkansas, all of the lands described hereinabove in this Ordi-
nance, and that said lands be, and are hereby, assigned and attached
to the Fifth Ward of said City.

SECTION 2. It is, further, ordered that upon two copies of
the entire proceeding of the Pulaski County Court, concerning the
annexation, having been prepared and duly certified by the Pulaski
County Clerk, one copy of said proceeding.shall be delivered to
and filed with the Secretary of State of the State of Arkansas,
pursuant to Arkansas Statutes Annotated 1947, §19 -305.
SECTION 3. That it is hereby ascertained and declared that it
is necessary to immediately bring the lands involved within the
bounds of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, in order that the
valuable improvements thereon may immediately have City fire and
police protection. It is, therefore, declared that an emergency
exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of
the public peace, health and safety shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and approval.
